Finally found someone that would hook me up on my car. I got into an accident, someone hit me and sent me into the car in front of me, barely did anything to the rear, but f**ked up the front. I got a Stalker front bumper and a Cyberstallion hood from the insurance money. This guy is going to pull the frame, weld on a new radiator support, AND have it done by tomorrow nite. For $600!! He's also gonna paint it, though we haven't talked about a price for that yet. If anyone in San Diego needs some body work done, give him a call.

Well, I went and looked at it this morning, an he's got everything off, he was about to pull the frame when I got there, he said he should have it pretty much done tonight and I will get it for sure tomorrow. I'm gonna go look at it tonight, hopefully it will be pretty much done, and then I can worry about getting it painted. The gel coat on the fiberglass Stalker front end needs some work, it's got some chips in it that I need to have fixed. Anybody know how expensive/difficult it would be to get that fixed?? That's next before I get it painted.

You have any experience with that? Would I be able to use it as a substitute for filling it in with gel coat? Don't really want to pay a shop to do it, they'll prolly charge pretty good for something like that, so any way I can do it myself would be cool.

Do it yourself. Its not that bad if you dont mind a mess. Any bodyshop supply house will set you up with the right filler and sandpaper grades. One solid afternoon and you can have it ready for paint. You can do it. Go for it.

My chip repair kit's in the mail.



You use touch up paint, then wrap cotton from a t-shirt or something around this peice of plastic, put their boop on it, and rub untill it's smooth with the pain.



Granted it's meant for paint, but it might work with gel coat as well. If you don't feel like risking the whole front end, do a small one, see how it works. If it doesn't work, then do what lloyd said and go back over it.
