Default New Wheels for 04 Vert

I've currently got 17x9 Cobra replica wheels on my 04 Vert. I'm thinking (almost decided) about changing to 18" Centerline Telstars, keeping the same tire outside diameter.

I'd like to go bigger on the tires and the wheels, but I think the cost of tires gets rediculous above 18". Other than reprograming the computer/speedometer, is there any issue with increasing the tire outside diameter? (e.g. clearance problems) I have adjustable coil-over springs, so I'm hoping that I will be able to compensate for bigger tires???

I want to look "different" but not flashy. I want a classic hot-rod'ish setup that is good for Autocross too.

If anyone can help educate me before I drop a ton of $$ on this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.
