View Full Version : Spout ??? noslow50 04-02-2003, 02:33 PM hey real quick does anybody know were a spout connector is on a 95 5.0...??? any help we r trying to time my car....and it says to disconnect the spout connector... please help... 91GT5.0 04-02-2003, 03:54 PM Under the distributor, there's a wire(s) with a grey plastic thing on the end. That's the spout connector, pull that off, do your timing, then put it back in. jeep45238 04-02-2003, 05:41 PM Ah, the wonders of the DIS....<img border="0" src= smileys/smiley4.gif> I'm set even for boost with the stock ignition! noslow50 04-03-2003, 12:21 AM no it ain't, i have already checked with a bunch of guys and they say it has 2 wires and is located on the fire wall somewhere... very reliabe sources 2 but yet they can't find it.... new25.0 04-03-2003, 01:34 AM shouldnt it be right behind passenger headlight, kinda like a little plug in plastic connector, on my old truck thats where it was. just a guess 91GT5.0 04-03-2003, 03:01 PM Dude, trust me, the spout you need to unplug to do your timing is right next to the distributor. New25.0 is right about it being a plug in a plastic connector, but on a 5.0 Mustang, it's right next to the distributor. EDIT: I just saw that you said it was a 95, so it might be in a different location, but on the fox bodies it's right next to the distributor. spike306 04-03-2003, 07:18 PM definitly by the distributor, i just recently had to pull mine out lloydchristmas 04-05-2003, 07:07 PM I have to agree with the masses here. We all have mustangs we all have set our timing. We all know that the spout connecter is by the distributor. Why is there still any question? noslow50 04-06-2003, 04:00 PM yea ....all the people tell me that , that is the plug if u have a 93 an older stang but the 94 and up is different... i heard they r usually located close to the cpu...on the fire wall.... sooo i'll have to get my friends dad to check at the dealership... lloydchristmas 04-06-2003, 11:22 PM Or get a service manual. That might help us solve this mystery!!!! noslow50 04-07-2003, 12:28 AM i have the one they use in the dealership... i just can't find anything in it that says spout connector... lloydchristmas 04-08-2003, 10:56 PM This is getting spooky stang574 04-09-2003, 12:15 AM ON the sn-95 mustangs with the 5.0 the Spark plug output connector (SPOUT) is located on the passenger side of the engine, underneath the mass air flow meter. The wire for the SPOUT connector is threaded through the fender and dosen't have a great deal of extra wire poking through. It can sometimes be found right at the opening of the hole. The best way to find it, for the first time is to take off the intake pipe up to the throttle body and it should be much easier to find. After you have located it, it is possible to pull the wire up a little ways out of the hole so that you can reinstall the intake pipe and unhook the connector without having to take the intake pipe off. By the way when disconecting the spout connector, it is best to do it with the ignition off. The breaking of the electrical circuit generates an electrical spike in the circuit that can possibly harm the other electronics throughout the circuit. noslow50 04-09-2003, 12:47 AM sweet.. that sounds like it would be it.. i have already been warned about disconnecting it with the ign.. off.. Thanx... i'll have to look tomorrow morning... lloydchristmas 04-09-2003, 05:53 PM Good deal!!! I knew if we all put our heads together someone would come up with it!!!! |
