Default 460 speakers

one of my damn speakers broke...the wire goin from the connection to the cardboard part is actually split...how i dont know but it happened. i dont have enough $ for a new system so i was thinking of gettin some 6 1/2 woofers and puttin them in there instead of all the speakers. would this work? what specifications do they have to meet if i do this? and is there any way i coud get a 6x9 woofer to fit in there? i know the stockers are 6x8 but i found some 6x9 woofers and was wonderin if i could make those fit.
