Ok, soooooo, i was just leaving the mall, getting onto the freeway and I was trying to get ahead of a semi. I was in 3rd gear at a little over half throttle, and I hit a spot of ice. ended up losing control a little. Im alright, but my leg and arm are a little messed up. the stang is dead. scroll down only if you have a strong stomach.
UPDATE!!!!!!!!! [/John Walsh] Car has been left with the insurance company, so (as much as I appreciate the offers and the $$$) I cant sell u any parts from it.
I got a TA instead of a fox. sorry guys, but had to make the be safer invenstment (insurance wont cover 8k in mods to make a fast fox, but hell, 2k on a ls1 i can risk). once i get out of college ill get myself a stang again.

Damn that really sucks dude. That was a really pretty stang too. Glad to hear you're ok though. Time to collect insurance money and move onto the next project.

If you can hardly keep yourself a live on a Mustang, maybe a streetbike isn't the best option for you

I might sound like a panzy, but I watch reruns of Walker Texas Ranger atleast 2 times a day, and usually 4 or 5 on Monday and Tuesday. I've been watchin him since I was like 8, so its kinda hard not too.
oh yeah... after I lost controll, i overcorrected (which ive never done before) and came back into traffic and hit the semi at the pass door. he spun me around 3 times and I hit the guard rail. both front and back are completely messed up, car is totalled for sure. so im gonna look around for the fox i think, always wanted one, and pushrods are so much easier to work on (blessing in disguise? maybe after the deductible )
oh, and maf, i know ur a deuche bag, so its ok, but honestly, i shifted smoothly, accellerated smoothly, and just hit ice. not much i can do about that. I got the greater cosmic shaft tonight. so um... go to hell and all, but really its all good . its still friday night, and im currently playing "circle of death" (am i typing well for being piss drunk?) anyway, thanks for everyone who posted their condolences. none of my friend are gearheads, and therefore dont "feel the pain". but, to make matters betters, the EMT that checked me out was one, and we talked cars for awhile, he like the turbo fox idea too. ill miss that car like nobody who hasnt lost one can believe.

So im guessing this is a prime example of why to not drive the stang in winter?

me? my bday is listed in my profile... i turn 21 in 2 weeks.
u know, older, more experienced, and all around good drivers crash too. honestly, im a little disappointed in u for bring age into this after having read the story. seriously, thats lame.
anyway, they werent stock tires, they were hankooks, and hard as crap. I would lose traction on corners just in the cold (im in iowa btw), the fact that we had freezing rain last night didnt help . like I said, 3rd gear, half throttle, 55 mph, I shouldnt have biffed, but I hit that ice patch. I ended up with a $100 ticket for failure to maintain, but as the cop was writing it she apologized and said "I know you just hit that ice back there, I slid around too coming up that exit. but its city policy that we have to ticket the person at fault." I feel kind of like I got the big shaft last night. Im not gonna lie to u guys, after all the dumb sh*t ive done in that car, im kinda pissed that what took me out was something so lame. but oh well, ive been lookin around some for a black on black 89 hatch (my 2nd fav car after the blue edge.... well, attainable car anyway ) when it starts getting closer and closer im going to have to have a serious talk with some of u fox guys. I mean hell, it took me 2 years to figure out everything I wanted to know with the 4.6.... I guess ive got a journey ahead of me
