I just left a local car shop. He said a true dual exhaust system on the V6 would decimate HP. He recomended keeping the Y pipe after the cats and splitting it out from there in to duals... as opposed to an H-pipe and duals from the cats. He said that would give good sound whilst keeping the back pressure for the hp... any thoughts, comments, questions, gripes, complaints?

If you plan on running NA then i would think maybe keeping the Y pipe isnt a bad idea whereas if you plan on going towards a turbo or supercharged system the added boost should add backpressure and the h-pipe in that case will help cure the restriction
I plan on keeping it NA. If I wanted HP i would have bought a GT. Will it sound good with the "fake duals?" I just want it to sound like a muscle car, not actually be one! I was thinking MRT or Bassani, with the y pipe... any other thoughts?

http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05v6jbaexh.htm Did a little researching for you and came up with a website you may have heard of it but that link above has pictures of JBA's y pipe dual exhaust with sound clips of start up launch and drive by. ... hopefully that will help you with your decision making ... also my buddy has a magnaflow y pipe dual and i have the jba true dual both of our cars sound japanese anyone else have that goin on???
i doubt that you would lose hp. It just doesnt have enough extra gain over a single to justify the cost. As for sound its gonna sound great. Youll want an hpipe for chambered mufflers like flow masters and xpipe for mufflers like magnaflows. I used to have dual gt takeoffs with hpipe and it sounded good. Now my customs shop hooked m eup with magnaflow duals but back on the ypipe. Ill be changing it to straight pipes as soon as i have time to go work with them.
Cut the rear valance to match the right side, there is a post here somewhere with directions. I aqcuired a GT rear bumper through an unfortunate accident... not my fault... so I won't need to worry about that... there is your second option...

Cutting the v6 bumper is risky. You make a mistake the bumpers gonna look like crap. Also the risk of it chipping from the cuts. GT Bumpers are $160 from diversified so its not expensive to change out bumpers.
