WTF? Horsehide upholstry??? I honestly don't think they could have done anything tackier than that.
As for the exterior.....well............it IS a concept, so I'll forgive some of its outrageousness. What I really dislike is how much they shortened the rear deck. I can see the styling value of a longer nose and shorter rear, but the way they did it makes the back part of the car look like it was squished in as an afterthought. Ruins the flow of the lines IMO.......too much of an econobox hatchback profile for my tastes. Most of the rest of it isn't terrible......as far as retro-futuristic designs go.
I just always find it funny how concept cars look awesome from some angles and terrible from others. Observe......from this angle the profile of the car is really nice (minus the lambo doors of course).
Thumbnail Image But then you look at it from this angle and it just looks all wrong. Weird...

But for God's sake.................DITCH the cowboy wannabe interior.
photo was snapped using my Nokia 8801 camera phone ! No photo editing. I have no clue how to edit pictures and personally don't have the time. Oh and yeah I haven't logged in to the forum for a couple weeks because I was travelling around Italy. Anyway, my photo was then confirmed on automotive news as the car that Ford and Giugiaro are bringing to the LA autoshow. It was a cool looking car and I am really upset that I couldn't get more pics. Rock & Roll

I can't figure out why Ford would be having Italians design their cars. I thought most mass produced cars were designed here in Los Angeles, in Pasadena area. Could it be that Fiat is going to buy out Ford???? If not you think Ford could have got someone better to design it- like Pininfarina!
Anyway, I saw it in person and it was just a concept. Will never see the light of day, as far as mass production is concerned. Kinda like that Camaro Concept they've been showing for over a year!
i have to be honest. SIDE VIEW ROCKS! front and rear i dont like... cheap imitation of the camaro concept. not as good. lambo doors. i dont like. they need to stick to original doors that just come out. keep it more like the originals. i understand an italin designed it and thats why. but its an american name. lose the lambo doors.

Other than the cowboy interior, I really like it... the color sucks IMHO, but I think it looks really nice. Much more Autobahn than freeway, but a nice job nevertheless. I personally think it's cool when someone has the vision to take an icon in new and different directions. Love the taillights, the front end reminds me of the Boss and Mach 1's from the late 60's... sexy :-)
I would rather buy an import than drive that around the front looks like a M3 and the rear looks like a 350Z I personally think it is a bad decision on ford behalf to produce something that extreme but hey it just my opinion lol
Hello,my name is Henry Mc Nab , I have a 1970 Mach 1 ,428 cobra jet R code red in color , all original , ready for restoration , if anyone is interested ,e-mail at hmcnab @ frontiernet .net, no rust , and never in an accident, a lot of parts have been purchased , and recromed
Getting back to the top at hand....I think everyone should remember that this is just a concept car. This concept kind of reminds me of some of the other radical concepts that Ford has put out over the years. Slim chance to none that Ford would've sold over 121,000 64 1/2 mustangs if they started mass producing the Mustang I concept of '62, or the more even the more realistic Mustang II concept of '63
What about the Milano Mustang concept Ford put out for a touring exhibit in '70?? I bet the mustang faithfull would've loved this one.
The main thing that needs to be kept in mind is that all these cars are just concepts and there is little to no chance that any will see the light of day after they're shown off for a little while. I personally think they're all pretty cool...and i'd love to have my hands on any one of them. What a spectacle it would be to cruise up to a car show in any one of the cars pictured above! Woohoo for mustang concepts!
