ORIGINAL: walc I just e-mailed this entire thread and the 4 page " Saleen Quality Control " thread to Public Relations at Saleen HQ. Hopefully, it will do some good in improving quality control and service.
Four full business days since my e-mail to Saleen Customer Service and one full business day since I e-mailed these threads to Saleen PR. No acknowledgement or answer received. Do they grow much dope in Irvine? Maybe, the whole HQ are high?

I've just decided to stop wasting my time. Saleen, obviously, could care less about customer satisfaction and quality control. As long as idiots, like me, keep buying Saleen's product, it will not change. Hopefully, Saleen won't be out of business, while any of our cars are still under warranty. However, such poorly run businesses usually go broke sooner; rather than later.
I can solve all of your problems. Go buy a blower for your car and get the JDM upgrade. Then your warranty is toast and you won't have to worry aboutit any longer. Sorry, could not resist.

Having read the issues with quality control and service support, and speaking as somebody poised to take the plunge and ordering an SC, I'm having severe doubts about the wisdom of such a move.
Having worked and saved hard for my 55k I'm starting to wonder if dropping it on some German engineering is a better move after all

If I had your $55k (or maybe a little more) I'd drop it on a Saleen PJ. They're only producing 500 of them and since they're just now on the production line, they're probably getting more "attention to detail" than the SCs so the QC should be better.
I sure hope your right, Amy. Just to be safe, when I go look at the PJ when it comes in I'm bringing an engineer (read: don't want to miss a detail) to look at the car with me.

Marcus, keep in mind all these warranty issues are minor in the grand scheme of things. We've discovered the secret to getting our problems resolved promptly and that is to deal directly with Saleen instead of the dealerships. 99% of everything we've listed as gripes has been traced back to the dealership's lack of competency. Once we dealt with Saleen directly it went super smooth.
Please don't let this discussion dissuade you from the car you want. Saleens are amazing cars and get looks and comments everywhere they go.

I hear you dotbomb. It's a bad reflection on Saleen perhaps, but one has to consider the practical side of life. If we have to snitch to Saleen everytime something goes wrong, it ultimately dampens our whole experience.

Marcus, you think German engineering will be better. lol Good luck with that one.
I agree with Mr. Bomb, most of these issues have been minor in comparison. That should not take away from the PIA they cause.
Anyone that had a first generation T-45 tranny on their Mustang/Saleens should remember what a treat those things were. Non-stop major issues. All car manufacturers will have issues. ALL
I tried to kill my E34 M5 and couldn't. That car was amazing! Also tried to kill a number of AMG cars and only broke an S55. Good thing that car was not my own!
I think someone should just start a "sticky" that goes like this.
Anyone who is thinking about purchasing a new Saleen Mustang, go for it. Like any low production manufactured car you're gonna have issues. Yes, it's a Mustang with added body panels, suspension bits and so on. Nothing's perfect. German, American, Japanese, Swedish, Italian.... any motor vehicle assembled by far from perfect human beings are going to have some problems but if you are willing to deal with a few of these issues and get a whole hell of a lot attention in the meantime then don't pass up the opportunity.

Yup. That sums it up. I mean what other car gets you some guy exclaiming how proud he is to deliver motor oil while his girl is exclaiming "I want that!"?
