I took "Georgia" in to have the Ford dealer-installed dent removed. Took it back to the Benz dealer that offered to do it for $90 and now THE DENT IS GONE! What a relief! And of course they washed it -- probably an excuse to put their hands on it some more and drive it over to the wash bay....

The "buzz" created when my car was in the Benz service bay ALMOST made it worth the hassle. I heard several customers getting out of $100k cars asking the Benz guys what kind of car it was. Their response "Oh, that's a Saleen Mustang" was priceless; they were actually proud to have the car in their garage! Why don't Ford dealers behave that way?

The Assistant SM who helped me was very complimentary about Georgia. His only negative comment related to the green odo light, which of course doesn't match anything else on the dash. He's right about that -- anyone out there attempted to change this? It would look so much nicer if it were white!

Thanks so much to SayWhen, unclemilti, dotbomb and Jazzer for your advice and support. You guys are the coolest!

That's GREAT all worked out with the dent Nice to see others drool, huh?

As far as the odo light being green, it is probably just a matter of opening the guage pod and replacing the "green" film in front of the light bulb itself. I cannot be sure, as I have only disasembled my dash pod a few times to pull the "seatbelt" bulb and experiment with some other things. I am sure someone here has had an '05+ pod opened (possible the Canadian guy with the speedo changing question a few weeks back) and can assist.

The Jazzer on green with envy

What do you mean by green odo light The '05 Dash Cluster features My Color, which means you can dial it into the color you want. I actually have mine set to green because it matches the radio display. Or am I confused by what you are asking?

You can't change the color of the little 'data center' where the odo reading is.

That's right, the odo reading will be green all the time. The gauge lights can be tweaked with "my color".

Amy, I'm so glad it worked out well for you! These cars generate a lot of looks that's for sure. Too cool.

The designers wanted the radio and temp controls to also be tied to my color, but corners were cut.

My 05 has My Color but that's for the analog gauges, not the digital odometer reading as others have also stated. It would be cool if that could be changed. Not too worried about the stereo because sooner or later I'll probably swap that out. But the Benz guy was right, Ford should have given the digital display a little more thought so it would blend nicely with the rest of the dash. Even white would be better than that hideous green. Oh well, if that's my biggest complaint, things ain't that bad!

Thanks guys!

You're right, I could just switch it off since that's an option with the info center. Good idea!

Congrats Amy.

I don't care what the other guys say in here I love the MBZ dealerships. Their dent guys are the best because Mercedes actually has Quality Control.

It is green so that it matches the green display in the radio. I guess that doesnt bother me at all.

For my display color, I chose the blue. I think it gives a real nice contrast with the red needles.

Oh please!!! MBZ may be good at removing dents but they dont have QC either. I had a SLK that had so many problems it wasnt even funny. The side airbag panels had to be replaced once a year. The fuel pump went out twice. The list goes on and on... MBZ had quality control before it bought out Chrysler. Since then, the company has grown too large for them to treat their customers nicely. I was even told by the dealership not to buy the car for its quality but just to buy it for the name.

I've owned 9 Mercedes, from 1983 through 2007; including, an E55 AMG. IMO, quality control is mediocre.

Ah - makes sense now. I guess that is why I chose green for My Color
