I'm goin to be transfering a speakerbox from my '99 Stang to the GT, and I need to know how or if the overlap behind the rear seats can be removed. Its that slight metal overhang from the top down that you see when you fold down the seats or take off the back padding(which has 3 bolt on spots on overhang). The people at Circuit City somehow built the box and got it to fit in there...they claimed to have built it in the trunk, but I dont see how thats possible(box:13.5"Hx32"Wx17"D...trunk:15"Hx34Wx29D). There is no way it can be removed from trunk opening....only thing stopping it from being removed from back seats is that .5inch overhang.

I am not posative but if you want to take the rear deck lid out, you will start at the rear seat bottom and work your way up untill all the plastic on the sides of the car from the doors back is off, and then you can take this piece out. I am willing to bet it is just tucked under it.......

have pics?
