Default Brake Dust

Any tips on how to remove brake dust that set into my rims, the previous owner didnt really maintain the wheels that well (old couple owned it since it was new) but the rims have dust that wont come off with hand washing so any tips would be great.

You didn't mention the finish on the wheels, but you'd likely be safe with a spray-on, hose-off wheel cleaner like Mothers All Wheel or FX Wheel Cleaner -- they're both safe for all wheel finishes and have a generous two-minute working time.

I like to either spray on a wash mitt or directly on the wheel (avoiding brake finishes unless they're really dirty as well).

Generally you can just spray it on and hose it off with a strong spray; stubborn brake dust can require some mitt or brush action.

If you have chrome wheels, there's Chrome/Wire wheel cleaner which is stronger yet won't harm hardened chrome.

Go to a place that sells wheels and tires and see if they have a product called Spray White. I use that and its amazing stuff and it works all kinds of wheels (tires too).
