also keep in mind that cobras come stock with a supercharger. the vettes are stock with just as much hp, and no charger. so, start out not nessicarily stock, but with the same engine parts, and the vette spanks a stang. im saying this as someon whose been around both vettes and stangs all my life.

Yea mennis is right a vette with a supercharger is c ya later. Ok yes there is a price difference but thats not what we are talking about here. A stock vette Z06 weighs-3116 lbs. a Cobra-3665 lbs. Vette-Horsepower: 405 hp Torque: 400 ft-lbs. Cobra- Horsepower: 390 hp Torque: 390 ft-lbs. And this is just my opinion so dont shoot me a Z06 haddles better in many ways far better than the cobra. Iv had the pleasure to drive both on the same road and the vette grabs it' ass out of the corners and is hella solid going into them. I noticed a bit overstear when driving the cobra could be me tho. Im not hating on Stangs i own a GT, so dont start

Heh, I'd agree......a kitchen is a much wiser investment than a Z06. Every real estate agent will tell you, you will get twice the money your asking for selling your house if you update your kitchen (cabinets, appliances...flooring).

I currently own a 2002 Z06, and yes, they will beat a 03 Cobra stock for stock. But just like was mentioned before, how many stock Cobras are out there? Mustangs are DEFINITELY much cheaper to mod. However, someone said in an earlier post that simple mods dont give much hp for a Z06. Well, I disagree. I can achieve a 30 hp gain with an intake, headers, and an exhaust system. Both the intake and the exhaust are SO restricted from the factory, most any mods are going to help greatly. But with all due respect to Corvettes, I must say, that I prefer the Cobra, for it's much more power for your money. That's one reason I'm selling the Z for a new Cobra! lol

lol, well, now were starting a different conversation, hell, u put that much money of mods into any car, and you have yourself an eight second car. for that much u can put a whole new engine build, put together and installed, plus top of the line after market goodies, and thats assuming u didnt want to bottle feed it. then its just an orgasm on wheels. the point is, who in their right mind justifies 20k in mods to a car by saying that it is that much cheaper than a 50k car? lol that would be cool if you had that money to spend on a car, and only a car, but not in the real world.

also, corvette owners as a whole are a different breed than mustang owners. it is rare to find a corvette that is modded to the 9's like many higher end mustangs are. im speakin generally here, but corvette owners generally keep their cars stock for the most part, or at least parts from chevy. you cant really compare the two, as well as the cars themselves. the cars are different animals, as are the owners, at

[/QUOTE] Not a flame but the 03 Cobras Eaton Supercharger IS STOCK because it came from the factory that way. If you start with the "what if's" than the deal is off. I hear this issue with the Camaro crowd. "If the Camaro had a blower..." Well, it doesnt and the Cobra does. They also say that "the Cobra needs a blower to compete with the Camaro and Vettes..." To that, I say you are comparing a 350 to a 281....so tell me what's far and what isn't.

You are right on there Pyrro, major diffrence in cubes from 281 to 350. 03 Cobras are just bad a$$, and others who are jealous try to find excuses to make it less appealing.

Gee $30k, uh yeah I could build TWO 9 second cars with that much money. Plus they would actually LOOK nice. The new Cobra is a cool car, but its not the end all of automotive history. I have yet to meet one on the street or track, but I am looking forward to it. I love the big eyed look Viper owners and Bike's have when they get left by an ugly old car.
