By the way here's a quick pic I snapped at the Saleen show in Irvine of PJ driving his namesake car around the lot

Makes a person get all misty-eyed....

And I'm with Sowax: if those louvers are available to the rest of us, I'm buyin' 'em!

Chuck ~ Tulsa, where the wind comes rolling throught the plains ? Big wide open country roads there, eh. What more could you ask for. No Speed Limit maybe ? Bet we get stopped by the cops just to look at the car. Our local fuzz have new Hemi Chargers. Would like to come up beside one of those on the Freeway in the PJ and see what he's got. We have a fabulous 700 mile drive through the mointains here, a dream ride up around and back throught another mountain pass that one has about 200 corners. The Pj is going to love that drive as much if not more than the Bullitt ! Amen Steve.

Kernardo - you have to use a web service to host the pictures, then copy the code between the IMAGE tags (code buttons in the tool bar when posting). There are TONS of threads about this, signatures, and much more in the FORUM ISSUES & FEEDBACK section on the homepage. I use www.imageshack.net then copy the DIRECT LINK TO IMAGE FOR WEBSITES/FORUMS code

I just uploaded to my photo album on this site and then linked from there. Readers have to click on the link, but it works.

Interesting - look closely at the 2 cars closest in the pic. They are riding on the 20" 7 spoke chrome rims. Suppose that could be a S281 GO conversion in progress at the same time as the PJ's......Correction, not S281s in the making as you can see the black trunklid. So, temporary wheels or a special order

I bet they will come with seven spoke chrome wheels. Probably couldn't get the original ones ready in time. Remember, it took almost 2 years to get the 5 spoke wheels in production

According to the multiple times I've been to their facility and peeked in the back, they put temporary wheels on them to roll them around the facility. They just slap whatever they have laying around on them. Most of the time they are the original take off wheels from the Mustang GT though.

I hope that's the case, but it seems strange that they would put 20 inch chrome wheels on them for just moving around.

Makes sense, but as a guy that likes to do things effeciently (only once ) I have to ask - why not just put the correct wheels on there to begin with and be done with it?

Sowaxeman ~ Saleen doen't put the real wheels on till the very end of the line just to make absolutely sure that there is no possibility of damage to them along the way. Part of Quality Control et all.

Should put them on rolling carts and push them around.

But they'll put the $1900 chrome 20's on there and risk those - the same wheels that will no doubt end up on a S281 or SC, or sold via Saleen Aftermarket I realize if they got damaged they wouldn't sell them, but still equals ineffeciency in my book

Inefficiency, not the case. This is all part of the assembly line process, if you've ever been involved with that activity. It makes a lot of sence along with economies of scale. In other words these things are all very well thought of and thought through to make sure your SALEEN is as price competitive as possible. One needs to take a look at the Bigger Picture, say sa.

I would imagine they are already damaged/rejects/defective. I donated a wheel to the cause not to long ago (peeling chrome). I bet it is rolling around on a PJ right now.
