Is it worth spending less money on a flowmaster exhaust, or would it just be smarter to go to a higher quality exhaust and pay the extra money?? I'm just curious because I mean come on when i get the stang it HAS to sound hot[image][/image]

depends on your set up. My exhaust has stock manifolds and mid pipe with a flowmaster catback.
I took off the flowmasters and welded in Ravin mufflers but still couldn't stand the drone at 2K RPM (it was actually worse). After I put on the CAI, the drone wasn't as bad. Then I bought the Magnafow catback because MD said it was the best for not droning. It's true, there is hardly any drone at all but the flows had the meanest, loudest sound.

I love my flowmasters. I think they sound great and the do give you more horses. You're only talking about 5hp maybe between the flows and a really high end cat-back. I would go with what sounds best. I'm also getting a o/r h-pipe this month and they supposedly sound amazing with flows.

Dude you're gonna sh!t when you hear your car with an off-road H and Flows. You can't imagine how much better it sounds without cats.

I hope so Everyone says that's a good combo. The only thing I'm concerned about is the drone. I actually don't mind the drone, but I hope it's not too insanely loud

Nah, I think it sounds like you're riding around in a tin can and the drone at 2500 rpm is unbelievable. I switched because it was killing my ears! Like Magnaflows better myself.
me I don't care about some....I like the silent but powerful sound....I want ya to hear me laughing when I go by*LOL*

I got drone between 1800 - 2000 rpm with my flows - but I like it and besides when I rev up to above 2200 rpm it gets quite again and doesnt get louder till I get over 3k rpm. So... Interstate driving its great - car is kinda quite. Although with dumps its gonna be loud all the time.
I will admit I know nothing about exhausts. Besides sound, what is so great about Flowmasters? Is there a difference in how it's made, like quality of metal, weight, etc.? Warranty?
When I get my car, I will probably go with Flowmasters because of the reputation it has. I have heard very little negative remarks about them.

It's the sound quality. Combined with an off-road H-pipe, it can't be beat. They don't flow as well as other mufflers, and aren't as high quality because they are aluminized steel rather than SS, but the sound is really incredible. Very mean and aggressive sounding.
