Default 2000 V6 mustang engine noise

I have a 2000 V6 Mustang, custom h-pipe, two magnaflow mufflers, cold air intake. I have 67K miles and now i'm getting a clicking noise whenever i hit the gas. I was wondering what may be the cause, I'm thinking valve but I' m not sure, could you ladies and gents give any advice? </P>

Well to begin: no matter what gear im in, as i hit the gas to accelerate, i get a ticking/clicking noise fromt he left side of the car. If i let go of the gas, the noise dissappears and if i hit the gas again the noise comes back and louder the more i hit the gas. I've also noticed that if the ac is on the noise is louder. </P>

thanks again in advance for any advice.</P>

My guess is its an exhaust leak. If it were lifters tapping it would probably go away at higher RPM. The reason I say exhaust leak is because it gets louder under a load, which is classic for a small exhaust leak.</P><edited><editID>mdvaldosta</editID><editDate>37867.8592824074</editDate></edited>

Hey im almost 100 percent sure you have a little exhaust leak because my friends 2001 V6 mustang started doing the exact thing at around 45,000 miles, he ran the whole hell out of that car so at first i too thought a valve but it was just a exhaust leak, the way that guy ran that car really made me respect the 3.8 liter engine, even though i've had so much trouble with them in the past

what octane fuel are you running... if running lowoctane, try running premium and catching a tune up</P>

i have the same "problem" with mine. i just got the car from my sister. its at about 38000 miles. Only had one problem with the car so far and it was the battery. i cant hear the clicking when i get up and beyond 30 mph, but when i first turn on the car and get out of my driveway i hear it. its not bad but i hope it doesnt turn into something worse <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley24.gif border="0">
