Police Engine?

Is there any way that i can tell if the engine in my car is from a police car? I was told by the guy that I bought it from that it was, but I'm not sure what to think. Thanks.

Police engines were the same as regular production engines. Internally, anyway. Police cars had a heavy-duty fan clutch, blue silicone hoses, and an oil cooler, and some other minor differences. Look at where your oil filter screws onto the engine. If there's a piece between the filter and the block with two hoses connected to it, then maybe you've got a cop car engine. But it's still just a standard production motor.

BTW, I've got a '91 Special Service Mustang (cop car).

Usually police engines are interceptor engines, they'll say that on them if they are.
