I took my month old Saleen, to the dealer, to have the rear quarter window trim replaced. It blew off, when my car was 2 weeks old. I asked the dealer to check if the front anti-sway bar was properly torqued. It was. However, a front strut was improperly installed and had to be adjusted. I have to admit, I'm less than impressed by Saleen's idea of quality control.
I know what you mean...I bought my SALEEN on July 11th I've been able to drive it a total of 3 weeks it has been in the shop ever since...where it is right now waiting on parts from SALEEN ....

It would be interesting to see what JD Power & Associates would find if they did an initial quality survey of Saleen owners. From the growing number of posts on this forum, I'd bet the story would not be good for Saleen. Anybody out there know anyone at JD Power??
It's beginning to look like those of us who bought used Saleens have been given an advantage. The original owners are certainly dealing with a lot more hassles due to Saleen's shabby QC. The guy who sold me his 2005 S281 said his local Saleen dealer was thrilled that the car was leaving the state because he had brought it in so many times for initial QC issues. Lucky for me, the guy was a stickler for detail and he brought every teeny flaw to the dealer's attention and expected each one to be fixed -- as it should be with these cars! Now her only flaws are the ones the DEALER put there!
Yeah my dealer screwed up a lot more than they fixed....I bought mine brand new....I still have my 96 V6 Mustang i bought at the same dealership 10 years ago and it has never had to go to the shop for one thing...That is the main reason I went back with the SALEEN...In ways I wish i'd bought the G35 coupe from the dealership across the road like I went after to begin with...I'd have $15k more money and a car I could actually drive....
I think I'm finally at the point where "good enough is" and I'm just going to enjoy my car rather than continue to worry about it. That is of course unless my rear bumper falls off or something. I'm tired of leaving the car for a day or two here and there. Granted I've had 99% of the issues fixed as a result so that's good.

I have yet to get the survey, from Saleen, even though it has had my info for a month. Maybe, the results are so bad that Saleen doesn't want to know.

I know what you mean. I could have bought a new leftover 2006 Mustang GT Coupe for around $20,000. less. But, no, I had to get a Saleen.

ORIGINAL: Say When What's wrong Walc? You got tired of the big "clunking" sound coming from the front end??? That's normal when you have 70lbs of weight on every corner of your car.
I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. the only thing I have had it the silly horn sticker fall off, and the sway bar was not properly torqued. All the body panels are fine and look great, except for th 1/4" overhang at the rear of the skirt, but everyone has that issue. The only other issue I have had is the Skipper 500. It was replaced due to skipping, and I think the replacement is worse, and the buttons dont light up at night.

Well- I haven't had a ton of problems- but talked to "Pat" in warranty, and "Nathan" in customer service last night. My horn sticker is coming off, and my 3rd taillight is pink.
Not only did both people act totally miserable on the phone- almost like I was wasting their time- but Pat said I needed to take my car to a Saleen dealer to get the brakelight and horn emblem resolved. Which would be fine, BUT my nearest dealer is 90 miles away. My selling dealer is 7 hours away!
My only hope at this point is that my selling dealers service dept will write up the warranty repair without physically seeing the car. I am not putting 180 miles on my new car, spending the money in gas, and leaving my car at a foreign dealership for a damn 20 dollar Taiwan brake lamp and horn emblem.
Ridiculous, Saleen!!
If anyone in Saleen actually reads this stuff-Get your **** together.
