Thats why I am painting my S/C hood myself as we speak. Of course, I have been painting for over 15 years and have been Platinum certified thru PPG, and also have been given certificates of excellence thru HOK and DuPont- but I really don't have the time to paint the stuff right now.

Dealerships simply are not going to take the time and effort required to make sure your hood or whatever is painted to perfection the way a 50K car needs to be. Sad, but true. Turn and burn, baby.

I haven't checked to see if my 3rd brake light is PINK :(.....I'm suppose to be getting the new SALEEN horn emblem when it comes in :)

Better check it and see. Amys 3rd BL was pink, and the other 5 Saleens on the lot where I got mine were a pink color.

Its not "pink", but its not a nice deep red like the tailights.

Pat knew exactly the problem, so it must be more widespread than 1 or 2 cars.

My Skipper 500 went in a box the next day of bringing my new SALEEN home

Dumb question #1:
How would you know if a front strut was improperly installed? What are the symptoms... just curious.

Dumb question #2:
How did you discover your brakelight was pink, unclemilti? I've never seen my brakelights -- guess someone else would have to be driving.

Random observation:
My hubby's not-too-cheap Audi develops a new problem all the time. In fact, the car's engine blew when it was less than six months old. Plastic parts fall off continually and now the built-in nav system's not working. He still loves it. Go figure.

And, 06Saleen1246, that looks like my new stereo.... I love it, except for trying to get to a particular song in a hurry on an ipod.

I read about some people, on this forum, having problems with loose nuts on the front anti-sway bar. So, I asked the dealer to check the torque, which was correct, and the technician found that one of the struts was improperly installed.

Its a nice Stereo...It is the Pioneer AVH 6800DVD 6 disc DVD changer...I haven't had the chance to install the IPOD adapter or the Pioneer AVG VDP1 vehicle dynamics processor

It will need to be replaced. You MIGHT be able to work with Saleen to get them to send you the brake light directly, but in general you will need to go through the dealer for warranty repairs and have them do the install. I did this and while there are resulting "issues", the new brake light looks really good.

If Audis (vw's) didn't have plastic falling off of them we'd think they were clever fakes. Afterall, that is their signature trademark!

I believe they send a whole new light to the dealer where the dealer then proceeds to dent your trunk outward while installing it. You then get to visit the Mercedes dealership to have it fixed properly.
