hi all i'm new my name is justin and im a big time newby. i've read all the post on saleens that you guys have posted because i'm really interested in mustangs and especially saleens, i'm looking to buy a car in january 05' and i'll be spending around 25-30k hopefully on a saleen. my question is where is a good place to start looking? i've read how people buy GTs cheap because thats what a saleen is basically and mod them up to a saleen, that sounds like a cool idea but i don't know. let me know what you guys think, thanks. -justin.
Hi justin. Welcome to MF. Start by deciding what you want. I say try to find a deal on a real Saleen vs. building up a gt. Not only will the real Saleen hold its value better, but with a gt build-up comes some headaches. Good deals are out there to be had! Get a mustang trader magazine, that is a good place to start. Also, the 2 biggest Saleen dealers in the country are Jerome duncan ford in Michigan, and Rich ford in New Mexico. If you call them, they may often have good deals on tade in Saleens, or can point you in the right direction. First and foremost, deccide what you want. If you know what you're looking for, its easier to find. ________ 02 S281E
ah aright cool thanks a lot birdieman, i'll definelty call them and where would i pick up a magazine? yea i'd rather have a real saleen because a gt would take a lot of time and i don't really have that with all the work i have.

Also American Ford in Minneapolis,MN is a great place, last time I checked they had a great 2004 Victory Blue Saleen Extreme, though that may be a little out of your 30k price range. They want about 60 for it. Ebay is also a good place, just be careful it's real and not a clone, you can make a GT into a Saleen part for part including serial numbers. just check the VIN#. Have Fun!!

You can pick up a Mustang Trader at most convenice stores (i.e. 7 eleven, WAWA, Royal Farm.....), you can also check out the auto trader website, but the mag is a little easier to look through. Good luck

I'm not trying to flame on this thread, but since your are in the market, you might want to take a gander a few of the Roush cars as well. They would be in the same Mustang and Ford Trader mags that have been described.

sick thanks for all the help guys, i picked up a mustang trader and a few other mustang magazines and saw some good deals on some '99's and up ranging from about 25-32k or so which is what i'm looking for and willing to spend, with about 15k miles or less on them also, i think i like the coupes better then the convertibles, the only thing that catches my eye about the convertibles is the style bar =) but i really like the white coupes, and the black convertibles are also kinda sick too. i'm looking for a supercharged one also, i'm not a fan of the non-sc ones and the automatics. i think if i wait til about jan 05 i should be able to get a really good deal and what i want, plus thats when i should have the money for a good down payment. and also do you guys know any good sites to look at saleens, so far i got www.saleenunlimited.com , www.saleen.com , www.ebay.com , www.performanceautosport.com , www.cars-on-line.com and i didn't find too much at www.autotrader.com so if you guys could add to that list that'd help out a lot. thanks again, -justin.
