yeah same here, sometimes I like it sometimes I hate it, I guess I'll wait to see how it performs. The video I saw of a 99-04 stang beating the 05 wasn't promising though, prolly bad driver. we'll see.

The Cobra's coming out in early '06, I wouldn't expect much difference between that and the '07. It'll be more expensive than the '04, can't say much about that right now, but there will be plenty more power than the current Cobra.

as of right now ford has announced that since the SVT team has been wrapped up in the Ford GT progject, they will be releasing a new cobra in mid-late 06, badged as no less than an 07 model. get the 06 cobra out fo your heads. there's no way it'll be done in the next year or so. and car companies almost never release a car late in a calender year and make the model year the same. you all should know that, common sense.
as far as the 05 GT, i plan to buy one as a daily driver when i get back from kuwait next summer.
You drove an 05 and that is all you have to post about your experience. Please give more info about your experience...
Sorry for the late reply; I didn't receive any emails that this thread was posted to!
I drove a black GT. The track was pretty short because they were sharing the speedway with the Ford 500 and the Freestyle. You can see most of it in the pics. My "co-pilot" didn't work for Ford, she was a Pace car driver and was very cool. She said to just "go for it" and not let off unless she said so. The driving position was comfortable and the wheel and stick were in very nice positions. The seat didn't have the same "grab" of the 03-04 Cobras (if you don't know what I'm talking about go to your nearest SVT dealer and sit in a new Cobra) but were nice. On take-off the wheels chirped and the car pulled strong up to about 5.5k. *Very* smooth shift into 2nd, the clutch was light and the throw was like butter. I came into the first turn right as I shifted into second. I took a good hold of the wheel since I was told that I wouldn't have enough room anywhere to hit 3rd. The wheel had a good, thick, sturdy feel. The car tracked well. I barely let off the gas through the first 90-degree turn and didn't break loose at all. The wide stance of the car made it really stick to the road. On the tighter turns there was some understeer and it was pretty easy to break the car into a drift, but everything was controllable and predictable. Overall I like the steering, handling, ride, and comfort 10 fold over my Cobra. It did lack the raw power and muscle-car feel, but exhaust and a few other mods would probably fix that. Great ride. I may have to sell one of my cars to make room for one.
