Own3d, you're correct, the numbers are very slow, but realistic for a consumer type magazine. 03 Cobra owners have been performing amazing things with these cars and have gone much farther than ever anticipated. I only know one person with a 12.60 time witha stock one, the rest have been published variuos mags. The Kenne Bells equipt engines are when these cars get insain!

Oh ya, dont believe everything you read in a mag. The times for these two cars differ greatly between mags. Car and Driver got the STi to a 13.1 and the Cobra to a 12.9. But once again those are professional drivers which you are not!!! You make me laugh. Dont worry we'll post the video on here of your loser a**, getting stomped by an STi and a girl! What will that do to your manhood??

You're right, those numbers do, I have driven my buddies '03 Cobra 100 times. I would be willing to bet I can get that car to break 13.0 on street tires. We've G-Teched it twice, once with him driving...(and he can't drive) 13.5 and once with me driving it. 13.04. I was just stating what the magazine said. Bolt up a set of ET Streets, and that fuc*er will damn near yank the front tires. They're mad fast.
I wasn't trying to be a jag, I was just pointing out that stock for stock an STI will not beat the new Cobra. Not that it matters, but numbers don't lie.
I wasn't bashing Subaru, I think it's pretty amazing that a 4 pot moves out like that. It's pretty cool. Ugly, but cool.

You got it lamo, thats neat that you want me to run with your girl, it would probably be a better race. WELL< THIS IS HOTRODGIRLS FIANCE!what a joke!, who cares. Shes holding her own on this site, don't make her look bad speaking for her, she knows enough about cars to talk the talk! Also, You better spend alot more money on that thing bud, cause you don't know what you are competing with.We will definately be in touch! She should be driving the STi, it more of a girls car in my opinion.

Whatever my wicked V6 mustang will smoke your Sti. Dont mess with me after I get my Saleen body kit either.
But to bad our mustangs handle like WWII tanks compared to the STi (or any other car for that matter). But im just as lame as any stang driver. I can only drive a quarter mile at a time in a straght line. Dont ask me to take turns on a real world road or race track for that matter because my suspension sucks balls. You will bow down to my furious body roll too. With my 20 year old technology dumped into my wobbling stang chassis you will die of laughter as you stare into my tailights down the 1/4 mile. We mustang lovers care not about our cars performance just how fast we can shove it down a quarter mile.

most all of the magazines put the cobra in the low 13s, making it a drivers race between a stock cobra and a stock sti. like any car, there are going to be stock ones a little slower, and stock ones a little faster. and 5.0 guy, if you run this guy use your kenne bell charger, cause his sti isn't stock. az2004sti post your dyno sheet for these mustang guys. i would love to see what it looks like.

Sidewayz, were not bashing the STi, just chatting with the competition out there!LOL! Just like hotrodgirls fiance, his car maybe quicker or slower, but it sure is fun thinking about a true race of rivals!, especially if we could get a few more 03 STis to race some other 03 Cobras with different setups. Then we can send off to the magazines the true winner, stock or modded. What do you think hotrodgirls fiance?, is there something else I can call you rather than sound like I'm mocking you? Oh yeah, nice touch with the tears!LOL

Yeah, I'd like to see the dyno sheet if you have one, I don't hate you car, just love the rivalry ever since the Hot Rod magazine article. V6 guy, what the hell are you doing in a Mustang? the model you chose and what you have done with it clearly says you don't belong in one. My car handles fine, cars such as hotrodgirls fiance are nothing to frown on, I take every race seriously and will be very impressed to see a car beat mine, I know they are out there, but most are illeagal street cars. Well see 5.0 guy, you may have a 15000 dollar engine but my STi has an 8000 dollar tranny. As far as the girls car comment is that because it only has 4 cylinders??? Thats all it needs! I will post my dyno sheets when I get home tonight. You make me laugh though when you think your car will give my fiances stang a race. You'll be doing nothing but smelling the 107 octane coming from her pipes. You have to get by my STi first to even consider racing her stang.

You just keep us posted on when that 03 Cobra is here wanting to race. And by the way its an 04 STi they dont have 03's. And we will be video taping the race so when you lose everyone on here will see.

There is an awful lot of trash talking between two guys that have never seen each others cars. AZ2004, 5.0 never said what his car had or didn't have, or what it ran.
Can I ask what the feeling will be when it turns out that his Mustang runs 9's? Will you still win? How do we know your car doesn't run 8's? Get some facts before jumping all over each other.
This is why people get annoyed with guys that drive imports.

Doesnt matter! My fiances stang is just waiting to lay down 8 second passes after the final tuning is done. And the best part is we dont have to worry about in breaking or cracking like the P.O.S iron block the 03 Cobra has.

Why are you talking poopie about my wickedV6 5.0? We are supposed to stick together as Stang drivers arent we? Im sure your Stang handles brilliantly with the 1970's chassis technology. Whats wrong with my mods? I wouldnt bash yours. I love the stang becuse of the pretty donkey emblem. I'm having the donkey decal put on my doors this saturday!! I think im going to mod the decal to make it look more like a Unicorn too!! What do you think? Wouldnt that would be so pretty!!
I think we can take the Sti together on a race and rally track. That way when you leave me behind I can pick up all the parts that fall off your super fast 5.0! Is that teamwork or what!

For one she never said the cobra dumps the clutch at that, it is the STi that dumps it at that. And yes I am familar with all forms of vehicles used for drag racing. And I'm sorry but your kenne bell cobra dont scare us. It can meet a Paxton blown Dart!! All I say is bring it!

8 second passes!, whatever!, what shop are you building this car through? I just moved from Pheonix and know most shops down there, especially when it comes to Mustangs! I'll give you the benefit of doubt though! I think this will be fun and definately bring a video and a still camera, how many people get a chance to see a couple 600= rear wheel horse power cars running at the strip! Just curious, have you ever seen a 21psi Kenne Bell supercharger running at just 18psi, it's insain! Don't know of anyone exploding their 03 block, in fact I think the guys runnning in the eights now still have A/C, how about your girls??? I am definately comming to Pheonix, my mother lives down there so you will have your chance! No nitrous, I want see all motor, I really can't wait to see this!!!
