Default '99GT (stock) vs. '97 Cobra

Hey guys, I'm new here. Just posted my 14.2 run in the 4.6 section, but the other night I ran into a (i THINK) '97 Cobra

We went from a dig 2 times, and once from a roll.

From the dig, I pulled the first race about 1/2 car in front to about 60-65 and he reeled me in and we were even by 90.
Second dig race, I launched a bit better, him probably about the same, so I had a tad more by 6065, and edged him about by a bumper or so by 90-95.

3rd race, from a 35mph roll was a bit different (like I knew it would be)

We were even till about 50-55 and he jumped about 1/2-3/4ish cars in front by 80 when I cut off cause he was pulling.

We both said nice race, and apparently, were both stock.

I went 14.2 on a 2.0 60', which makes me think I am launch VERY well, but not shifting the car to its full potential.
What do you guys think about the race? sound about right?

Seems about right. I had raced 96 cobra? I believe, with some simalar outcomes ( http://www.mustangforums.com/m_1867964/tm.htm ). I thought they would be alot faster.

I raced a 98 cobra with a full handling suspension, exhaust, CAI. First race, I got the hole shot and held it till about 60 after that he started gaining, by 80 or so he had about a car on me and we shut down. Second race, I launched perfectly (as perfect as possible on 235 all season tires lol), got the hole shot and shut down around 70-80 (had about 2.5 cars on him). Very good races to say the least. He would've destroyed me if I was stock.

1999 cobra is "rated" the same as the 2001. After the recall of course. I dont see any reason why the 01 would be any quicker than the 99.

I think from reading this i gather you are in a 5 speed, but more importantly was he in an Auto? makes a big difference.
