i am the proud owner of a new 2003 GT, and i want to put a new exhuast system on. first i want to know which is better the bassani x-pipe or the magnaflow x-pipe. i have a friend with an 03 SVT cobra with spintech mufflers which sound realy nice but i havent heard anything about their performance. most people say flowmaster but im just curious what the best set up for my stang would be

People spend a lot of time in the area of exhaust.  The bottom line is this--H-pipe will yield more low end torque.  X-pipe yields more high end power.  So the starting point with exhaust is where do you need the power.  Secondly, mufflers are for the most part going to be a matter of sound preference, give or take a few horsepower between different brands.  Contrary to popular belief, there is no superior exhaust system when comparing X and H pipes.  Overall, the size of the exhaust(2-1/4,2-1/2,or3in)will be a more important factor along with stock manifold, shorty,or full length header selection in relationship to how much modification you do to your engine.

Magnaflow!!!!!!! I guess I'll start digging up reviews about Flowmaster, they aren't very pretty at all.

If you want to hear clips of my 02 GT with Magnaflow PM me ;)

ya ive heard alot of good things about bassani and that was my original choice, but my friend whos got a 03 cobra said that bassani doesnt make a true x-pipe and that magnaflow makes a better system. ive heard both good and bad about bassani and magnaflow, so i was curious if anyone knew if either isnt a true x-pipe or what. also i have heard that bassani doesnt sound good.Shaggy37865.5425462963

Magnaflow cat-back will run you about 100 buck more than flowmaster... expect to spend 350 - 400 if you shop around.  X-pipes will run around 200 bucks.

Yeah, magna-flow has a great sound...I have them on my '01 GT along with a Bassani X-Pipe....The bassani x-pipe will run you around $500 that is with the "high-flow" converters... but even with the converters i guess they flowed too much which threw on my MIL so I had to get MIL eliminators

I'm not partial to bassani sound unless your whole exhaust is bassani... which is the most expensive exhaust company I know of by the way
