Pretty good news for 4.0 owners. Explorer Express has come out with an Eaton M90 kit for the 4.0L 6 cylinder 2005-2007 Mustangs. Makes me want to buy a V6 instead of a GT. The ultimate sleeper package...
I posted the California (CA) emissions kit. They also have a kit for non California emissions cars. I believe they are claiming 75 to 100 added hp from this kit.

Several folks here have the XCharger (as it's known). The high power kit is now legal in California as well, and therefore in a few months, there will probably only be one kit.
This is a positive displacement blower, so it develops KILLER torque at very low RPM... I believe from the dyno sheets I have seen, the XCharger will develop 280-290 lb-ft torque at just over 2000 RPM. It's more like a torque shelf.
I believe you will see 280 HP, or a little above, with the HiPo kit. And torque at 280-290. AND DON'T FORGET... THESE are RWHP numbers, so at the crank, it must be 330+ and 340+... most impressive. With numbers higher than a GT, and torque coming on at much lower numbers (GT develops 320 at the crank at 4200 RPM), you should be able to eat GT's for breakfast..... unless or course, they have FI as well !!!
Search for XCharger or X-Charger to find lots more threads. This is the kit I am buying at the end of the year (when the bonus shows up).

I guess, I have been.......sorry. Well that sounds like what I'm looking for, something that'll give me an assload of torque! Guess, I gotta start saving......

If Explorer Express just released the kit for sale on October 17th, how is it that I am living in a cave? Does someone else besides Explorer Express make this kit? Or...when you speak of people already having this kit you are talking about the people that had the kit installed by Explorer Express for Research & development testing purposes?
Either way its a new kit.

Okay, okay...coming from the 5.0 and supercharged 4.6 world, I may not be as up to date as I need to be on 6 cylinder mods.
...but I'm tellin' you...they just released this kit for sale to the general public. All of the kits installed to date were on the fortunate few who had these kits installed on their cars as test cars...
x-charger, ssm boost prepped short block( lower comp. ratio, aluminum con. rods and pistons) ssm heads mac equal length headers, duals, custom cai!!!! If i had $100000000.00 thats what ide have on my car, not a gt500, but a gt500 killer
for one youd need a different hood to stick an intercooler in there (which would be required for higher boost). And lowering the CR will make less (but safer) power per psi.
to get 450rwhp would take an insane amount of boost (probably around 20)

I dont know If I had $4200 to spend Id get a Turbo, and have more power than an x-charger...i dont know spending that much and getting ~60 or so HP, I need more convinsing
To me, it seems like the XCharger would be more fun for daily driven street cars....just cause all that low end power. I think this is something more for my style cause I don't go to the track.....glad I looked into it!
Ya, I agree... it's all about how you get your fun. I will never run at a track, and could care less about 1/4 mile times. I want around town head snapping torque. I never take my car over 5000 RPM, so the max HP numbers don't even mean that much to me.
As for the poster that said "60 HP"..... it's a lot more than that. A stock V6 is probably putting down 180 HP to the wheels. The HiPo kit is claimed to do 280 at the wheels. That's 100 HP....
Just a quick question, if I had the Eaton XCharger, do I HAVE to have the stock air intake? Not that I have a different one but, I was just wondering......
im thinkin about 85-95rwrhp gain with the hipo kit. Which is decent. If all you want is a street car, then this kit will work great for you.
I however want a fast track car. While im sure i could do 13s with the xcharger, but the last thing id want at the track is haters sayin "oh wow, you supercharged it and can only get 13s haha" i want the "damn whatd you do to your car to get 12 flat"

no custom ones would fit because of where the intake comes into the blower. So id say you have to use whatever they supply/tell you to do
