Default I find this Mustang owner hard to believe

He's saying he has only 225rwhp/288rwtq.
Dyno: http://www.mustangmods.com/data/6762/sae_hp.jpg
Best Time Slip: http://www.mustangmods.com/data/6762/besttimeslip.jpg
One of the video's: http://www.eastcoaststang.com/Media/...004eric_02.wmv
He says that the car weighs in at 3005lbs.
And he said the best time is a 12.7 @ 105mph. Doesn't that sound AWD?
What about the 1.6 60'? Doesn't that sound AWD with only 225rwhp?
Someone please tell me that this is unreal and not true. He's saying he launched at 6 grand and dumped the clutch.
The video shows a 12.9 at something...and he's all like, "Suspension is everything, I changed out my suspension from stock and gained .9 seconds"...I find that BS too...I'm sorry.

There is no way. It sounds like he was running a turbo which would put him at least in the three hundreds. If he has a turbo then launching at 6000 would make good sense so it is already spooled up... but he would definetly need ome drag slicks and probably a little rearend work to keep that kind of power to the ground.

It sounded like a BOV the third time I listened to the video...and Ob and I are talking in the chat about it, unless he's running at like 1PSI lol..
I don't know, I'm calling him BS...especially with the car weighing in 3000 without him in it.

IF he's got an ungodly amount of suspension work
and some sticky sticky tires.
I guess its poosible.
Just take my Pops Roundman for example.
Runs a 13.5 on a STOCK motor
which prolly dynos to like 190 rwhp
and the car's got a fair amount of suspension work and weighs in at 3200 with him inside.

So that puts him at mid 13's with 220 hp's without his suspension.. I dunno I think the dyno might have been from when it was stock, then he added stuff later. With a full suspension and tires with a stock engine i dont think he could have broken into 12's.

upgraded suspension will certainly drop the 1/4 mile time by dropping the 60'... BUT... trap speed actually goes down slightly and with stock hp he sould be trapping at around 99mph... so he HAS to either have gutted a few hundred lbs from his car or added at least 50hp to get that kinda trap speed.

Old school rule:

If you have XXX HP and want to go faster, you have 3 choices.
#1 Make more HP.
#2 Loose weight.
#3 Loose weight, and make more HP.

These 3 rules will never change. Spend all the $$$$$ you want on nice shiney go faster stuff like shifter knobs, valve covers, ect: and get beat by a grey headed old Phart.

Well guys, what can I say here? First I guess don't be so quick to call BS!
(1) I definitely agree with 302240Z, especially the grey headed old Phart part, except my hard is brown but my beard is grey!
(2)If I can do 1.78 60' times with an AOD and some suspension mods and 9" slicks, why doesn't it seem reasonable to y'all that a manual tranny dumped at 6,000 rpm with good suspension and slicks and weighing less that me do 1.6 60' times?
(3)based on common sense knowledge of Stangs and the video, I know that this ain't no AWD car! no Mustang is AWD.
(4)let's be conservative and say my stock 88 less smog and power steering and fan with underdrive pulleys, headers and a chip makes 250 flywheel HP and 330 ft-lb torque at the flywheel, his looks to be making 226 HP at the rear wheels which is probably a bit higher than mine would due to drive train losses, especially since I run a 4.57 rear gear. If I can do 13.53 with a less powerful and heavier car, why is it so hard to believe that he can do 12.9 with a stick shift car launcing much harder than mine?
It looks to me like his mods have allowed him to fully use each HP and ft-lb of torque he can make to get his car to go fast down the strip. Remember it's not all about HP and torque as raw numbers, it is all about how well you can hook it up to the track and drive the car! This guy apparently has done his homework and knows what he's doing with a shifter and it sounds like the rest of you are a bit jealous!
