Mine finally came today via FedEx. I have Ford bolts and nuts ordered; someone else has mentioned washers. WHAT washers??? The parts guy didn't see anything listed for washers; he showed me the book and the specific page and I didn't see any washers either. What washers do I need... and for which nuts and/or bolts???
I bought a used (14,000 miles) 2006 V6 automatic convertible about a month ago. I'm delighted with it in every aspect, so far, but as has been the case with my previous cars (twenty-five or so of them, lots of different kinds) I always wonder if I'm missing something.
"Sway bars" intrigue me. I guess they are what the Ford guys call "stabilizer bars" and I see the V6 has a light front and no rear bar.
My first question is: does anyone know of a place the different bars and combinations are evaluated? It seems to me the standard V6 suspension works very well, the car turns in quickly and predictably, and while the able help of posters in this forum make it look relatively easy to add a rear and upgrade the front bar, I wonder if it is worth it for non-competitive street use.
Do y'all reckon added or stiffer bars make an actual, measurable difference in road-holding, absolute cornering power, or just create a sensation of controllability or some such?
Second question: can anyone tell about the "lowering kit" modifications that say they drop the ride height one and one-point-four inches? Is there a significant improvement in cornering power? Any problems associated with less ground clearance and bump room? Harsh ride?

installed my aftermarket eibachs. man it was truly a learning experiences doing it myself on ramps... but is was fun. thought i shoudlshow you how big the eibach is compared to the stock sixer front sway. THIS is what i think of when i think upgrade. not only is the thing HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY. i took it for a spin and the body roll is almost non existant! you can also adjust the stiffness on the front bar but i decided not to mess with it as im not always the only driver of my car. this will be real fun when i autocross it next month.
Well, I picked up the nuts and bolts today after I got off work today. Sure are the weirdest things, with those "clips." I was real glad to have the pictures here to give me an idea how they go on, or I don't know if I'd have ever figured it out. Pictures really are worth thousands of words.
Looks like the pics are gone. I just got my GT-Take-off bars and I'm a bit puzzled by the bolts with the clips, does anyone have a picture of how those go on? Thanks Dave
hahah i just one myself a pair from diversified for $81 =P and I'm picking them up in cerritos monday . nice sways lx200, and would you happen to have the part numbers for those bolts? i'll be doing the same thing monday afternoon
