Default Which is better? Motive or Ford Racing Gears?

I'm ready to order the new 3.73 gears, but keep running into comments that Motive gears whine more than Ford Racing gears. FR's cost $50 more, but are they worth it? Give me your thoughts, or experiences before I lay the money down. Thanks!

The genuine Ford gears are definatley less likely to whine. Whine is very annoying, consider that $50 well spent.

You need to be careful though. Some FRPP gears are just Motive gears repackaged for Ford. Look at the part number of the FRPP gears you are wanting to buy. If the last digit is an "M", then they are made by Motive for Ford. Avoid these if at all possible.

See this post for more info and an example:

yes, but the ONLY reason gears should whine is if they are installed incorrectly, and that seems to happen alot with motives

just go with OEM ford though

I'm not really sure based updon experience but I have heard that ford racing parts are more of a kind of one size fits all brand. Not positive though.

Good question. I'd like to get an answer from someone at Ford about this. Are they Ford Racing gears or Motive gears?
