i'm curious. if all the people around where you live drive ferraris, lambos, etc, and their kids drive vettes, why are you driving a mustang GT and sti?

I work in Westchester - I can't afford to live there. And I was talking about my customers who are very wealthy people.

Maybe they should try branding it dfferently. Once you get into the $100k range, performance isn't the only important thing. Image can mean a lot and I am not sure how many people are going to pay $100,000+ for a Corvette.

Are u kidding me, no offense

but dont underestimate a zo6. theres a video of a zo6 wit a CAI and tune beating a ford GT.
theyre quick as fuk.
i would much rather pay 100k for 650hp
then 300K for 500hp (lambo)

Ladies and gentlemen, all clif has to say is this:

If Chevrolet builds this car right, there WILL be a storm of some of the most wicked production vechicles ever built. PERIOD. There will be unsurmountable machines coming from the showroom, WE ARE ENTERING THE SUPERCAR ERA. Internal combustion vehicles are nearing their peak, and this is proof. Ferrari is gonna sh*t itself, Ford is gonna cry, Dodge died the second this photo surfaced, porsche and lamborghini went blind, and anything from Japan is gonna be playing catch-up for the next several decades. Hopefully, Ford will build the GR-1. I truly hope that Ford doesnt just let this happen. Now is the opportune moment for both of these companies to redeem themselves as high quality, high value, ultra high performance gods. Im glad Chevy is gonna do it. I just hope the blue oval follows suit.

Waste of money IMO $100K for a smaller engined Z06 with a blower? Did you guys see that they're putting in a 6.2L V-8? Can't one just buy a 7.0L Z06 and S/C it, for much less? Just something for the rich boys to wet their pants over.....I think Chevy should make a mid-engined 'Vette to compete with the Lambo/Ferraris etc. on their terms and show them what's what on handling, balance and brutal HP......JMO

Refer to my above post. People say the same thing about supercharging the LS1 to beat down the Terminators, but it just doesn't work out that way. The LS7 was engineered to run naturally aspirated.

the $100k 'Vette is sick. i love it. but, give me the LS7 with a h/c upgrade and exhaust, and id be close to the same level with less $$ invested. somebody sent me a vid.....i think it was Rogers, with an LS7 h/c swap and over 600rwhp. just, f**kin awesome. sounded deadly too. thats how i feel about it.

and Ford isn't gonna "play" with Chevy. Chevy owns that market. UNLESS, Ford redoes a Cobra in the S197 style. and not the GT500. i mean a Ford Mustang Cobra. bring back a 5.0, forged internals, some type of forced induction. or, better yet. remake the 5.8 with forced induction. HEHEH. but, the 'Vette owns the category. the GT500 is a p.o.s imo. i dont like 'em. its a disgrace to the Shelby name and the old GT500's. itd be fine w/ me if they total every one of them. id MUCH rather have the LS7 in my driveway. more than a Ford GT also. just my $.02 tho.

With the introduction of a Dodge Viper GTS that is gonna have a 600+ HP there was no doubt in my mind this supervette was in the works.

all of you people who think its a rip for a sced vett, you have to look at it in another way.

you get a stock 650hp car for 100000 It looks killer, I don't care if it's a vette or not. Where else are you gonna get those looks and that power for that price?

that car is sick and I would buy it if I had the money

Lot of money for something you could do yourself for less. The warrenty would be nice though.

nice vette sorry to say. horsepower for the money you cant beat it. but everyone has a vette it seems like. how many ppl have a lambo. i would like to have that. as far as ford doing something like that i doubt they will i wish they would tho. they have always been behind chevy. 96-98 stangs went against the lt1s 99-04 mustangs went against ls1s. not good at all. 05 and newer stangs are a good race with an ls1. but ford is kinda behind. gt500 would be nice if it wasnt so heavy. if they put more aluminum in it or maybe even carbon fiber. and atleast bumped up the displacement that would be nice. and dodge i heard is coming out with a viper venom. 650+ horse. so hoo knows on that. good luck ford.

I tells ya.........GR-1 or the resurgence of the GT, its gotta happen. Ford CANT be dumb enough to sit this fight out. Yeah, its gonna take lots of $$$ and lots of R&D, that for all we know Ford has already done, but if they want to strive and survive, Ford NEEDS a supercar that will run with or outrun this Vette and the new Viper.
