Ok...I'm getting a 89' 5.0..for 200 bucks...the only thing is the back of it is ruined and the wheels are broke....would it be easier andcheaper to fix that 1 up..or to take that engine and tranny and put it in my 4 banger and just make the 5.0 a donor car??? i need the cheapest solution..i havent see the 5.0 yet so i'm not EXACTLY sure or the damage...but even if it is un fixable i'm getting undergroundlights..a crowl hood...tacameters(sp) an engine and tranny...i'd say that was pretty good! lol...thanks for n e one whos gives me advice...also..i need to kno how to get the stock stereo out! stupid thing lol

swap is never cheap if im not mistaken, and even if so it aint easy.  find a running decent shape 5.0 for the cheapest solution.  they can be gotten under 2k.  fyi its spelled cowl hood and tachometer

Buy another 5.0 and use the damaged one as a parts car

agreed. unless u have a mechanic with all the right tools that will put it in for cheap, ur not gonna escape without  some hefty bills.  it also depends on weather u like a project or not. for some, the thought of a swap is a stupid one, but to others, its all in the restoration and customization.

Or learn how to do it yourself. There's nothing better than a girl who can rebuild her own Mustang!!!!!  Grrrrrr!!!!!!  Plus you'll appreciate your car more than you'll ever know!!
