Has anyone else got a new x or h pipe and had a vibrating noise at about 2600 rpms? I put on a pypes off road x pipe and i got this virbrating metal noise. It was disgusting sounding. Almost sound like a dirt bike got mixed in with the sound of the v8. I dont know if i got this cause i was a cheep bast@%D and went with Pypes x pipe or is it that clamp that goes around the pipes from the catback and the xpipe when they meet up thats faulty. Let me know if you had this same issue. I even swapped out axle back and still got the same noise. i swapped from flowmasters to MAC.

When mine made that noise it was because they adjusted the ab's to center them more and the metal prong on the ab's were tapping against the bracket that supports them. This should not be your problem since you switched out the Ab's already UNLESS your bracket is bent and the the same metal prong is hitting your bracket when it shakes. Re-check all brakets and clamps

Hope you find it. It drove me crazy when I heard it..

Wow...if this is the same issue I'm thinking...I had this way back when...and NO ONE could figure it out at 1st. I was getting vibrations between 1300-1500 RPM and again at about 3100RPM. However yours is at a different RPM.
Anyway...come to find out...after changing my axle back and what not...it was actually the cross member....the peice that supports the tranny....that your xpipe hangers go into. Something was wrong with that...and it was causing the vibration. Replaced that...and it was good to go.

Just a side note...don't let Ford do it if that is the problem...unless they want to fix it for free. They insisted to me it was going to cost about $300 and a day or 2 without my car. I took it to my usual mechanic...and I watched as it took him about 30 mins to do it...and only $150. The actual part was only $90.

Yeah I took the x pipe out 3 times and installed it. Bugs the crap out of me. Plus when i bought the mac axle back i had to get stock hangers so they are brand new hangers and i looked over those several times. One thing im going to check tomorrow is the little nubs on teh stock pipes for the axle back. Maybe the since the MAC dont slide around those nubs it could be vibrating on those. Even still tho the flomasters where designed to fit around those so I will check that out anyway and I will check out the cross member on the tranny. Car sounded sick at idle. Just soon as i hit around 2600 rpms all hell broke loose. motocross mayhem coming from the exahust.

I have this tingy tin sound from time to time but never tought about the little nubs . I need to adjust the macs anyway so I will grind down the nubs ...They look as if they could go in toward the axle more ..one side the tip sticks out a little past rear cover
