Just went out and looked and the gromit that solved a few folks problem wasn't even in the hole in the sheet metal on mine...will have to put it in and see if that makes any difference......sounds like anouther trip through the car was on the way home...

Went out at lunch and put the gromit back in...dont see how that could possibly be the problem, even with it installed, the wire loom going through it is like 1/2 in in diameter and the hole its coming through in the gromit is 3/4 in in diameter...if that is supposed to seal anything I don't see how....
On the leak pole that was taken, I said that I didn't have that dreaded leak. But then after we had that north easter storm I found out that my car was leaking. I'm taking it in thurs, but feel that it will not get fixed within the first few visits. It's not as bad as some of the leaks that people are having. If I knew more precisely where the leak was from,or the waranty was expired I would fix it myself. I ask the repair shop if they have heard of this problem on other stangs, but they say that they haven't at all. Ya sure.
Ok I have been reading the threads on this has anyone notice a hole underneath wear the cowl drains down it is almost directly under and there are one on each side, could water enter here and go down the rail I don"t know But I fixed mine just in case. Here is some pics I put a plastic cap with silicone in the hole to solve the problem it is in the photo.it may be hard to see but it is there.
It's LEAK TEST day for me. Heavy rain coming from the North. Supposed to rain all day. Car parked on an slight uphill incline facing North. I have not looked forward to this day, but I must know. I will let you know tonight. 07 Build date 8/06. Purchase date 12/06.

I guess I lucked out on this one. Rained all day, still raining, drove home in the ruts in the highway to spray as much water as possible. She's dry. Unfortunately my luck was not as good with the front suspension THUNK.

Got the car back and stopped at a car wash some kids were having at a gas station...no water in the floor pan, but I think the real test will be a drive through car wash w/high pressure water.

Official Verdict from the Invoice:
"Owner states water is pooling up in passenger floor. No visible leaks Remove right side of dash and center console, remove right side carpet for access and reseal open seam at firewall and kick panel on passenger side. Retest, Ok."

UPDATE:
Well, believe it or not, I think its actually fixed...took it through the touchless carwash on the way home from work and watched with the carpet pulled back and no water!
I think the leak comes from the tires pushing up the water while driving... I went thru it a lot when it rained, I wouldn't drive on a rainny day and the car was still perfect... but when I took it for a long spin... They leak appeared... My car is in the shop and they had to order 2 parts.. I will let you guys know about the one part tomm but I know that they had to change some wire cuz it was burning off due to the electrical malfunction...

2005 Gt Convertible ... June 5 2007. Thought I didn't have water leaks but I noticed passenger side soaked after 5 inches of rain in two days. Car was parked nose down on a 3 degree slope entire time and was not driven. Also the seat right side slide arm was rusty so leak must have been there all along. water appears to be coming from below fuse panel. How do you pull off passenger side access panel? So discouraging.
Hey where's Ford on this? It was right before Christmas that someone posted here that a leak related TSB was in the works. But I just checked my calendar and it's almost 6 months later. Where the f*** is it?
How about a reply from one of the Ford engineers here.
I have a 2006 coupe. We had serious rain and I have water in both the passenger and driver floor boards. From reading the forum, I guess I need to check the cowl area.

Took it in to the dealer again yesterday and went back with the guy they contract for water leaks and stood around while he did his thing....we put water on it for over an hour and a half and couldn't get the freakin thing to leak.....said the next time I bring it in he will jack up the rear a bit (I park on a slight incline) and see if that makes a difference. He was really nice and kept appologizing say if I could make it leak I could fix it......the saga continues.

this is an absolute outrage.....ford knows exactly where water is entering and yet you and some poor schmuck from the dealership, are treated like circus monkeys......i feel ford is playing all of us for fools.
on the other hand, i love my stang and wouldn't trade her for the world
