If you have some bucks, you can help resolve the rear end issue in one felled swoop. Check into the Watts link rear suspension. It's the Cat's meow.

Until you get the bucks, then just take those air shocks off and put the KYB's on, or don't drive it until you trash the air shocks and can afford the new springs and KYB's or the better Watts link. You have spent too much money and time with engine and body work to screw around with 70's technology on the rear.

thanks!. trust me take a car thats at basically nothing. and redo everything. ur gonna see 30K go fast (this was a 3 year period of time by the way). and its a 65 by the way.

soaring- when u say take off the air shocks and put on the kyb shocks, im guessing u mean the old shocks i had on?? i cant put those back on... theyd ruin my tires (already started to). if thats wut u meant for me to do

If you haven't replaced the old worn saggy leaf springs yet, that will be your first order of business, then add some new shocks such as the KYB gas adjusts. Then go to DodgeStang's wheel and tire fitment chart in the FAQ and see just what size tires you can run without rubbing. Bottom line, don't use shackle extensions, and don't use air shocks. Your rear end performance will suffer with the power you are going to be pouring back there, and quite frankly it is dangerous to have a rear end that is not set up for that engine.

Speaking of rear ends, what is your setup? the 8.8?

OK.... is it just me? I see a running pony side emblem in the up close pic of the wheels. But I dont see any on the side view.... What gives with that?

BTW I live the exterior of the car. Just wondering why you did the dash in blue?

thanks so much for the advice, when i have the money and am ready to upgrade il be doing wut u tell me. i talked to my mechanic today (he knows wut hes talking about hes not some idiot, for those of u out therre who are question my mechanics lol, and hes in his 50s by the way). he said u all have a great point, but no matter wut im using, if i hit a bump, dip, pothole or w/e at 35-40 its gonna ruin my car. he said keep the air shocks for now and ul be perfectly fine with day to day driving (im not racing through canyons or anything).

lol honestly i dont know, anyway i could figure that out?

edit- jarett- u are correct there is only a emblem on the the passenger side. reason for this is (as ive said before) im not done with this car, and im still deciding which badges i want to put on or not. reason that one is the only one on is bcuz it got dark and my dad was gonna put the other one on the next day, but forgot lol

for the blue dash. that was my dads choice. i personally just wanted black and chrome. but he fought with me FOREVER and insisted the car needed color. it came out nice so im fine for now, but il want to change it later, and it matches the light up running boards :).

well ask your dad if its the stock 8" rear from the 65, or did you guys swap the rear end from the 93 donor car? if you did the donor swap then its an 8.8.

It'd be interesting if you guys did the 8.8 cuz there have been some discussions around here on the difficulty of getting one of those under the 65-66 body style. If it IS the 8.8, I would be interested in the work you guys had to do to get it to work.

I have a feeling it was Dad's 30K. I like the car but the blue dash just doesn't work for me. 30K in a coupe is a lotta dough, hope you plan on keepin her.

first of all, of course my parents had to help me. my job would no way cover the 30k. i dont wanna hear about me not contributing though or me being spoiled. i put in near 10 K of MY money in this car. and yes i plan on keepin her :)

for the rear end- just talked to my dad. he said no we didnt take it from the 93. wut we did do though was change the rear end to a 9" composite.... and had to change the axles and some stuff to work with it.... im regurgitating that as best as possible lol

I like the look of that painted dash. I was thinkin of paintin the dash, top n bottom of the door panels, and the interior quarter panels the same color as the car, a pearl blue. THen the rest in the orig. black trim. What do you guys think?

i almost used that rest of the candy blue paint to do exactly wut u want to do. i ended up thinking it mite be too much.... but i think itd look good if it was done right...

another question... so with the standard locks i hate the hassle of having 3 different keys (ignition, doors, trunk). im making my locks power soon, and im gonna do trunk pop, so thatd eliminate those keys, but i still would want to have them on me in case my battery went out or something. so ive only heard of one way to make it so its just one key (one guy used something from a 93 stang, cant remember exactly wut). are there any ways u guys know of making it so i can use 1 key for my doors/truck/and ignition? thanks
