Ya with black, I would throw all the chrome back on there. Dont go crazy with the emlems. IMO, it would look just fine with the pony emblem and the grill ornaments (dont bother with the c.i. emblem up front). Haha, Soaring tends to be unfavorable of "restomod flare", and in the case of the cobra gas cap....yeaaaaah....its a lil wierd that its got a cobra on it, but that is a slick lookin cap nonetheless. I DO agree with him on unfinished details though--There are things here and there that with a lil fine tuning will make your ride even more sweet than it already is(i.e. that dirty ol' e-brake handle ). And just be careful with too many clashing aftermarket mods....sometimes on restomods (NOT YOURS), people get carried away with adding modern stuff and it can become tacky or just look like you barfed out an aftermarket supplier in your interior (nobody wants a 65 must'obra gt500.0) lol

You have a badass ride, and everyone know its all about the details and there are ALWAYS details left to deal with! That sucks about the AOD, but pretty common that OD goes out. My 92 5.0 has the same problem. Get a nice B&M ratchet or gate shifter in there that will look sweet.

I noticed that brake handle too, but thought I was pushing it to the limits with all the other suggestions. Let's all help this guy out. What would you do to make that Emergency brake handle look good? He could cut the old black plastic off, remove the pin and put on a new black plastic handle, or he could completely replace the entire E brake. Hmmmm......

That ebrake also looks worse cus it has some overspray from the primer on it (my dad painted the dash candy apple blue, did his best to cover the car, just missed the ebrake :( o well lol). keep the advice coming though! thanks

If I could make one change to this car it would be dropping it back down again (just a little bit). You should find out from your pops what kind of suspension setup you are running, maybe there is a change you can make so that you won't rub in the back. From your pics it looks like you are running a 235/45 tire size, which (presumably on a 17" rim) shouldn't have any rubbing issues (I am running 245/45/17's on all 4 and clearing). If you stiffen up your rear suspension a little bit you might be able to drop this thing back down in the future. just a thought...

the rear qtrs. usually have about 1/2"-1" +/- of sheetmetal edge sticking inside of the fenderwell, which is most likely what your tires are rubbing on. You can do a couple things: 1) use a nibbler VERY CAREFULLY to take down that edge or 2) VERY SLOWLY roll that edge up. In both cases you gotta watch out for the paint cuz it is super easy to chip or crack it. for the fronts, find out what springs you are running - 620 coils are a little stiffer and can drop your front down about an 1/2" 1" which would be perfect.

(the paint there was already chipped, i have things the paint shop is gonna redo) so i did tap that in, so im guessing it should be good now.... hopefully lol

Then they will wind up paying for it, because the air shocks will definitely punch a hole in your top where the shock hooks up whenever you hit a large enough bump like a pot hole or a speed bump when you are going too fast. My suggestion is that you rethink the entire rear end set up and go with a more reliable and less damaging shock such as the KYB gas adjusts. Besides that, the air shocks will cause you to have an unstable handling problem. That is old school stuff that went out during the 70's.

there was another thread around here that talked about the air shocks being an issue. When I first got my car it had them on and I never had a problem with them, although if the whole mount thing is mustang specific, I never knew about that. I agree with rmodel, it would be a good idea if you haven't replaced the leafs to go to a new setup, and pick up some new kyb shocks while your at it. It will give you a stiffer ride and will definitely allow you to Play with ride height (standard and mid eye give close to stock ride heights, reverse eye leafs drop the car about an 1". Depending on how many leafs you go with, that will determine ride quality (i.e. more leafs = stiffer)
