And I've got both cars and owners right here to prove it. On videos that we can't get on the computer yet unfortunately. But, we can't redo any of this, since now the Vette has an ATI and some other goodies and the Cobra has a pulley and chip, so, oh well. So, no redos.
If you want stats, I've got 'em :) Now, let's look into this a little more... First off, why are you comparing a brand new Cobra to a 4 year old Vette? 2003 Corvette base price: $43,325 2003 Cobra base price: $34,995 2003 Corvette 1/4 mile time: 13.6 seconds 2003 Cobra 1/4 time: 12.28 This means nothing to you probably, but I've seen a bone stock Cobra in 75 degree weather run a 12.03, a 12.12, and a 12.09 one after the other. Keep in mind this is on street tires. Also, why are you talking about interior comfort and pedal stiffness? These are matters of opinion (and I personally love a stiff clutch). And finally, I don't know about you but I don't plan to be doing much highway racing at speeds greater than 100. What you say is true, but I personally won't need to worry about that more than once or twice.

You must be HIGH... we have 4 03 Cobras that i have seen run at our local track. 2 are modded and 2 are stock. the 2 stock ones I have run against with my K&N filtered, 2.73:1 rear end 02 Z28 and I am .2 sec behind them. Stock exh, stock programming, stock tires, and as I mentioned before, the ungodly high geared rears. They consistantly run 8.6's, I run 8.8's with an A4 tranny. One of these 2 guys happens to like to run a stock Cobra and sees no real need to modify. I'm sure in the 1/4 the "forced induction" would start to pull a little more having more distance to build boost and power, but the Cobra is not all that. IT"S SUPERCAHRGED!!! OF COURSE it's gonna haul a$$. But a Cobra w/o mods would be owned by a Z06.
I actually don't smoke pot... We (or at least I am) are talking about stock cars here. It sounds like you have a very nice Camaro, but its kinda out of the league. I thought it was made clear that I was talking about a standard Vette, not a ZO6. They "own" the Cobras, but not by more than .3 seconds. However, I do agree with your "If it's American, it's worth every penny" theology. I hate ricers for one thing, but the bastards that buy imported cars have helped to put enough American workers out of jobs already, it's time for this madness to stop.
Oh and Sidewayz I was talking about the Ford GT, not the 'Stang
well, i used the 99 because i have proof of it, my bf has that car and his bro, a brand new 03 cobra, and they raced, when the cobra cut his exhaust it spun so much that the vette beat it then, before, the cobra would get those car lengths and the vette would come back.... so... thats why i used the 99 FRC, because its a car I've seen in action and its provable.

There's nothing here that says 98LS1, WS6, and I don't like Mustangs. I. personally like them, owned them and work on them. It's just when I decided to buy another late model v-8 car, I drove the GT and the Z28. And the GT definately did not impress me, though the Z felt real good to me. maybe it would be opposite to someone else. If I had alot of money, then it would be a toss up between the Vette and the Cobra. Since I don't and I make minimum wage, being in the military, I don't have alot of choices. Plus the Z had 18k less miles and was $3k cheaper.
OH, and why I hang out here is there are good vids, good people, and I actually learn quite a bit so when I do help my friends that own Mustangs, I know what I'm talking about to either converse with them or help them.

I see you're from Modesto, cool. I spent a little time there...Rodeoin. I was stationed at Ft Ord and that was when i decided to quit drinking. Between the rodeo Life, Army and gettin hammered every night took a toll on me. Plus I met my, now, wife in Monterey and she kinda changed my outlook on life. But I still enjoy an occasional Jack and Coke.
I love this place!! I love fast cars, Chevy, Ford, whatever. I have a mustang finally and i love it, I've always wanted one and i finally got the chance to get one, so i did.
My best friend has a 1970 Camaro SS which he and i put a 454 in and i love that thing, just installed Fool injection on it and it's even faster now
Can he beat me? Sure, does it bother me? Nope. As long as it isn't rice, I'm fine with it.
If i were rich, I'd have a Vette, a Cobra, a Viper, A Hemi Cuda........and I'd have a ball driving them all, because their American.
