Just wondering if any body knows the stock hp of a 289. i have never had my car dynoed with my add on's and was just trying to add up in my head what i might have. but i really cant do that since i dont know what it started with.

the stock hp for the 289-C code motor was 200hp the 289-A code motor was 225hp
289-C was a stock 2bbl
289-A was a stock 4bbl
There was also a K code motor and it was 271 hp

Basically,
1 barrel carburateur - 200 hp
2 barrel carburateur - 225 hp
high performance engine - 271 hp
these are all stock

BASICALLY NOT!!!
There was not a 1 barrel 200hp it was a 2bbl
and the 4bbl was 225hp. My orginal post was correct your input was good but wrong I am sure you ment 2bbl 200hp and 4bbl 225 hp

Either that, or know know what the barrel number on a carb means.

ok, ok it's wrong, i was just repeating what some website said so don't go gettin all insane on me. also, all i know is that whatever ive got has a 1bbl carb on it so i was assuming the website what right
