I spanked one quite handily at the track, but I am pretty sure he was stock. Though, even if I was stock I still would have beat him pretty good based on what he ran.
The guy ran a 15.1 in the 1/4. Don't let that time fool you though, my track runs slow times so he probably would have ran a 14.5 at another track.

That doesn't equate...a chip and a 3 in exhaust? These things only push 200 hp...I realize they're lighter(maybe 400 lb), but where can they pick up a full second(if not more) in the 1/4 mile? That would be like adding 125 hp to the car(the turbo can only respond so much because of size- or lack there of). If he walked away at 100+, there's more to the story. IMO

They respond well to mods. I had a 2000 Jetta 1.8T before the Stang. Stock 150 HP at 8.5 Lbs boost (2000 model year). Put in a GIAC chip, cold air intake, Evolution bypass valve. A chip alone is worth 40-50 horse. I was spiking to 20 Lbs of boost and holding 17...that's double stock. I ran 0-60 in 6.5 and 1/4 in 14.6 according to my Bel Performance computer. Stock it was 7 something 0-60, and 16 in the 1/4. Put in a new downpipe and other things and it'll run 14.2 easy. That was for a 2000 Jetta, an 07 GTI has the new 2.0T which stock has 200HP. Using the ET formulat for estimate on 1/4 mile times
ET = 5.825 (weight/hp)^1/3
He should run mid high 13's with just a reflash and CAI.
Formula is fairly accurate. A stock mustang with a driver is at around 3,600 Lbs and has a claimed 300HP (use fly wheel HP in formula). The formula has a result of 13.34 for the 1/4.

Haven't raced one. If he's modded fairly well (chip, CAI, pipe) he'll be in the 13's, since you're stock I'd say don't take it lightly, but you'd probably still win. If he's stock, you can win with taking a nap half way through.
