Hi, I am a senior at South Side High School in Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY, and I am embarking on an ASSESS project for school. An ASSESS project is a project where a student taking advanced courses during the school year has the opportunity at the end of the year to work at home to further his/her education. This project has to be in the field that you will be studying at college. I have been accepted into the mechanical engineering program, with an automotive specialty, at Kettering University (formerly G.M.I.). I start in July of 2003.
For my project, I have chosen to build a small block Ford engine and do some work on an historical car. I have already been given the rolling shell of a 1966 Mustang for this educational project. Rebuilding the engine, and working on the car, would give me a better understanding of how the car works, and the little ins and outs of it.
This is an educational experience, but I do not have the assets to complete the task to the fullest of my ability. Right now I am basically looking for an engine block to start off my build on. If you would in any way be able to help, please let me know. Donations have already accounted for small hand tools, floor pans, quarter panels, the trunk floor, and a new gas tank.
