Ok...not to be an @sshole but I think this a little far fetched. I have a 06 GT and an 07 Gt I just bought so unless you are getting a employee discount on A plan no way are they gonna knock that car down to 25k ...that guy is blowing smoke up your @ss.....and they tell you anything to get you into the dealer.....I hope it works out like you think it is........but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work out quite like they said.....

I was reading up on the internet how people were paying $34,000 and $37,500 and such for GT/CS's ... I don't know how I could possibly prove it to you other than a sticker, lol ... But I can swear on a bible that the car is marked at $30,800 and he said he can probably knock around $5,000 off of it. If I end up buying it I'll post a picture of the sticker and try and prove what we paid, lol ... Other than that I can't do anything.
So far MOST of you seem to be pretty nice, might be an easy transition from the V6 forum to here :) although I may have to have a name change, lol
stangmom is right dude. this guy is likely telling you what you want to hear so that you will come back....then, after you're all excited for it they'll put a hard close on you and you'll be leaving with a killer car and a lot more debt then you thought.
i used to sell cars, and didn't personally do it this way, but i did learn a lot of the tricks. there's no way they can give you that price unless they want to lose a lot on their car. there's probably 2500 - $3k of markup in the car as well as about a $1000 of holdback. There's no rebates on the 07's, so if they wanted to give you every penny you'd probably be looking at 27k or more at the very least. Not to mention, they will have to give you "ACV" or actual cash value on your car which is not going to impress you.
work your magic, and if that deal does go through as said.....let us know cause we'll all want to know HOW!

I guess I'm being a bit too optimistic then ... He did tell me that the 07s didn't have any rebates, but he would do what he could. He is a floor manager after all!!! I understand what you are all saying though... So is $30,800 already low-balling it??? All the GT/CS's on the lot were marked at the same price. We know 3 people at the dealership too. A salesman, a Floor manager, and my mom went to school with the head mechanic... Not that that helps much other than getting us dirt cheap repairs :)
Go build one on ford.com with the options the one has you are looking at. That should tell you what the price should be around for the car. I also find it really hard to believe a dealership would let a brand new 07 CS go for that price they probably have it marked up a good bit and are just droping the price down to make it seem like a great deal. If they do congrats to you that is a steal but as others have said i think they are just trying to get you into the dealership. And as swensicle stated they will not give you what your car was appraised at you'll get ACV. Mine was 10k something on the papers i signed but they only gave me 8,400. Heck you mentioned on here that you are getting a sum of money from a lawsuit, maybe they even know about that since your mom knows them and see an easy sale.
I just when over my numbers for the 07 Black GT/CS i brought 2 months ago. MSRP was $30,875. I work at a steel mill that supplies Ford, GM, and everybody who makes cars out of steel,so I get the X-plan. After search my entire area I finally found a Dealer who would sell at X-plan off the lot. X-plan price was $28,716 plus a $500 rebate for the x-plan usage. So the best deal I could get was for $28,216 If you can get that car for $25,000, you better buy 2 of them.

Wow, I did that and was about to post on here ... lol
The one I wanted (Must be much different options, lol) was $32,896. I went to another part of their website (Apply for Ford Credit or something like that) and put in that I was trading in my car, which they appraised on the website at $8,492, leaving the price at 24,404. Even if that plays out to be that, we will be fine... BUT if we do get them down to 25 or 26k, we will only end up paying 19 or 20k ... Even then its a good deal

The reason i haven't jumped all over this deal is we are expecting some money from a lawsuit back in 2003. The money was supposed to have been here by 8/22... But we still haven't received it. When we get that ($50,000) I'll be all over it... You have a normal GT, right? What did you pay???
I paid $26,400 for an '06 GT with all options except auto trans/red interior/Shaker1000. The list price was $28,900, so the dealer was able to knock $2,500 off(I paid $500.00 over invoice-according to the dealer). I realize other listers doubt you being able to receive this deal, but I think you should try your best, you'd be surprised(maybe the next buyer will take the dealer "hit", since your family seems to be repeat customers).

The dealership just called about half an hour ago when I was at dinner and pretty much just said that I could come in and talk to the Floor Manager that gave me the price, and it was very possible, although $5,000 is quite a bit, we are such 'good customers' that they MIGHT (emphasis on might) give us the deal.
