Got a question for you guys that threw a 20' rim. Did it require any body/well mods? Im thinking about a 19x9.5 coz I thought 20's needed a mod but if not Id definitely go with them.

No and one think I really like is that the rear fender wells have no lip so you would not need to roll them.... sweet huh, front has some small ones but no biggie

Anyway, with the right wheel and tire size there are no mods needed, now I do have to add wheel spacers because my brakes will not clear the freaking offset on my wheels but oh well.

No modifications needed. I run a 20x10 out back and a 20x8.5 up front

steamfish and VSTNG Thank You for the compliments.

There are some absolutely gorgeous rides within this thread that is for sure. Now i am of course kind of biased but i think that the Redfire is the best color for this car with Black being a close second. There is however a new color for 07 I think it is called Alloy which is Ford Dark Shadow Grey and that is one of my all time favorite Ford colors. But i would not get rid of my Redfire for one that's for sure.

Richard

Well you know I dig your ride too....

I had a black 05 before this and would almost put that in the number 1 slot looks-wise.... but when you are partially OCD regarding your car and black is in the mix...

Keeping it 'clean' practically gave me an ulser and kept me awake at night....

much happier and relaxed with mah Redfire beauty....

Oh and I almost might have waited for an 07 because of the alloy - because I think the S197 would look awesome in a gray like the classic Dark Shadow Gray.....

Sadly Alloy is NOT the same color and I am not too nuts about it

Just wondering how you keep your engine so clean. Do you drive much? As sharp as your ride is, I can picture it being carefully garaged and off of that dirty old asphalt. My stang is a daily driver and while I haven't had time to get into mods yet, I'd like to know how to keep it as clean as yours.

Yah i spend so much time keeping it clean in the first place i have a white one (i know this is a redfire thread) but everything shows up on white and its hard to keep it the way i wanna keep it .... and under the hood i spend so much time trying to get into every little detailed space and what not its sooo hard ... but its a satisfying feeling when you look at that clean baby

First off the car is NOT a daily driver, and is essentially a fair weather car. Once the rains start here in Calif. It will be in the garage covered for the winter. Also when ever the car is driven mainly running errands and taking weekend trips it is immediatly cleaned and detailed. Lots and lots of TLC. The engine bay along with the entire car gets wiped down and cleaned every time the car is driven. And it really helps being able to keep it garaged. My truck is not so lucky and just sitting outside gets under the hood dirty so I have to clean it weekly to keep it looking good.

Ahhhhhhhh now I understand my mistake. I work 60-70 hours per week. Doesn't allow much time for cleaning. My commute is 6 miles, so the miles stay low. One healthy power wash every other week is about all I can do at the moment. It does overnight in the garage and it rarely rains here. Maybe I need to retire ...

Just picked up my 07 Redfire on Monday. Before it even left the lot, had some mods does to it.

CDC Classic chin spoiler, Roush rear spoiler, Eibach Pro-kit, 20% window tint, had mirrors painted to match the car. Took part in the moleskin group buy. Will be installing it this weekend.

Pics to follow after waxing this weekend..

Kevin

This is definately the next color on my list...however long it will take. I love the look of the Saleen rear valence without the wing. I looks more like the 65s and 66s.

Sorry to hear that. Also it really does not take long to wipe the car down. 5 Minute with the CA. car duster then maybe 1/2 hour tops for some QD and a couple MF towels to wipe it down. But since you spend most of your life working i undersatnd you not having time. I personally choose not to live that way. And am truly sorry that you do it. I think we take life for granted and working 60-70 per week is no way to live. Not baggging on you just saying how i look at life.

Richard

You should be bragging you appear to have a very nice ride. Anyway onto how i take care of the underhood. I simply use some detail spray and a MF towels to wipe everything down once a week. For the black plastic parts i use this.

http://detailingdepot.com/smartspray.php

You can keep the engine bay looking great with a simple wipe down every time you wash the car. Just use a damp MF towel if you cannot use deatil spray and do it that way.

I have actaully only washed my car once since getting it in April. The car gets wiped downa nd I use detail spray and some MF every time the car is driven and the engine also gets cleaned.

However you do not have to do what i do to have a clean engine bay. Here are some links to places that have a wealth of info on detailing and can help you and other greatly.
