Hi i have recently come into possesion of a 2000 Mustang. the previous owner used to drive it everyday about 60-80 miles to work. so needless to say the car has 156k.... Im trying to fix it up (interior/exterior mods) but the paint seems terrible? i dont know what to do ive tried just a good wash and some waxing and buffing but like it seems the paint never comes clean. the black paint is almost fading.

Do you have a porter cable polisher. I would claybar the car, then use a good polish/swirl remover to bring back the paint. Then top with a sealant or wax. You won't bellieve how much difference polishing will make.
I'm with Juztang! Polish will help. Atfer a good wash and properly drying, I would use a good paint cleaner. Follow that up with claying to get a smooth uncontaminated surface to start with. Next, you a good polish to revive your shine. I would layer two good coats of wax ( NXT Tech Wax, Poorboys, Zaino, Syn Wax) followed by a carnuba topper.
