Hey all:

Thanks for all the feedback...I'm thinking of going to home depot now to get a glass cutter and make vent windows. And of course, curb feelers are in my future.

Also, I'd really like to see all the retro theme guys in the other states get the same plate for our own little retro "sub-club"....hey that rhymes

Thanks Claytone:

That is a Harman Kardon drive and play for an ipod. If you look at one of the interior pictures you will notice a little screen on top of the dash driver's side. This control mimics the ipod control and screen so you have access to all your music, I have 5400 songs, while keeping your eyes on the road. A must have for $199 if you have an ipod. However, if you have an '06 or below you also have to get the aux adapter from PIE. The '07s have the aux jack built in and they save $100 on the PIE adapter.

Starman you got us all. The plate does compliment the car. I see the killer dog is keeping a good eye on the car. Well you sure got alot more ideas from your fellow Mustang Enthusiasts. What's next ? By the way how old are you ?

Starman you are a paradox in and among yourself... Old school outside and high tech inside. imagine if they had all this stuff in 66. Of course you have imagined that because you've got it in '06.

Nice Ride... Nice Thread.

BTW...where did you get the tires?

Exterior wise, probably not much, if anything. I may start doing more "shiny" stuff under the hood. And I am 46 years young, with 4.5 year old twins (boy and girl), 16 year old girl, 2 cats, 2 chihuahuas and a Great Dane. A lot happening in my house all the time. And here is a pict of my other ride.

starman, you are my hero...end of story. you have so many mods that i am dying to do myself (obviously the FORD and MUSTANG lettering, hurst, redline tires, spinners, chrome taillight bezel, window louvers, dual exhaust etc.) however, im not 46 years young. im only a senior in high school but i absolutely love the muscle car era. 2 questions. what is the little knob thing to the right of the shifter and is the little dial or light on the driver side a-pillar a radar detector signal?

and if i may make a few suggestions, check out 3dcarbons pony vents. im thinking of getting those but having the little fingers chromed to give it an old school feel. also check into a 3rd brakelight chrome bezel and chrome door handle covers. those are all on my list.

keep up the good work and keep posting pictures!

Sweet plate starman, Im in the process of getting my personalied plate but alas, the Floridian government is slow as molasses
Your car is really lookin sweet these days, been awhile since I have seen it and its changed a bit, very clean and "olschool" lookin lol. I definately think the lime green is the most retro color... I just wish they would have offered a grabber blue I wouldve snatched me up one of those real quick! Nice lookin bike too, its even got gadgets on it too haha.

The sad part is, thats exactly how they think the words "old" and "school" are spelled in Tennessee! LOL
I can see them now down at the Motor Vehicle center arguing over if theres a "K" in school lol

OK spill the beans ..where did you get the red line tires. Or did you paint the lines on yourself?

NOPE! Like its been said in this thread, each to your own. However, with the mustang being a "modern retro" imo, putting all this stick on stuff just clutters up the clean lines of the car. I'm personally grateful that FMC did not put all the emblems/logos on it, I wish I could get the GT letters off my fenders...too bad for the holes...

with that said, if starman likes his ride...its cool with me too...and thanks for the interesting reading of this thread.

The red stripes were actually put on with pin stripe tape. They have stayed on through rain and washing, so far. They do get a lot of positive comments.

Remember to clean the area well.

So I hope this was an INTENDED joke. The term "old School" is not old and nobody had uttered those words in either the seventies nor the sixties. It's just a new, made-up word for wannabes trying to "keep it real".
Expect lots of deserved flack over this thread. I did enjoy it though!

A couple of people have asked about Red Line Tires... Here is something I ran accross. They are markers for tires... you can draw your own Red Lines. Don't flame, I'm not using them, just passing the info...

i just wasted 10 minutes of my life on this thread...

and of course Starman did NOT hype up this thread by labelling it "The Ultimate Retro Mod Is Coming"

anyone who "enjoyed" this thread is beyond dumb
