so tonight pulling out of the bar, thank god i didnt have one drink i came up to a red light, a fox body 5.0 stops at the light next to me, when the light turns green he fricken guns it and i with to navybudys in the car just start to take of like i normally would, i didnt give it any hard gas or anything, i just startedto proceed when the light turned green, a few secs later i look in the mirror and i see the lights flashing and the cops fly pass me trying to catch the 5.0 who took off like a bat out of hell an when thy catch him they start waving me over to the side of the road, this is hen i catch up to them, i never even steppe on the rake when i saw the lights because i wasnt even speeding, so he has us on the side of the road annd four more cops show up and hold us for a while, search us and the cars and than accuses me of racing the guy. i said i wasnt and they just yell at me, i said prove, and then after tryin to arrest us they gve u both careless driving tickets. I have a CDL , so i cant go to driver school and i will loose my job when they find out and i wonnt be rehireable for another driving job, and i wont be done with school for a couple more years, what can i do, can a lawer get me out of this, and if the cops had video in thie car then it would show that i didnt do anything, any advice would be helpful, im in a situation thanks guys
In short, this will be a mess. If it is a small town, talk to the mayor/cheif of police, DA. If it is a larger town and these people are inaccessable. Hire a lawyer (you will quite possibly be doing so anyways). I think you can get out of it, it will just cost you.
Hire a lawyer and be done with it. Tell the truth and let the lawyer do all the work, just make sure you show up and say exactly what you said tonight. It is gonna cost, but depends on how hard of a case it is and if you win or lose on how much its gonna cost. Cops can be dicks and I'm sure you told him the guy in the 5.0 took off trying to race and you didnt. The only thing I dont understand, is if he seen the 5.0 take off, than he would have seen you didnt. Where did the cop come from or where did he say he seen you racing from? Just sounds like a dickhead cop who wanted to get a couple guys in nice cars tickets. Sorry about the CDL thing, I know how that is.
he said he saw the other gu ake off, and actually the other guy straight up told him the gut in the 05 didnt do anything but he said he saw my car jump, i told the cop it has a brand new stage 3 clucth and stage 3 flwheel that just got installed, literaally, in the trunk is the old clucth and stuff, if anything he saw me trying not to stall, i dont know where the cop came from, he was just a ass, he said its not his promblem havent learned the new clucth yet, i said have thought about thatbefore trying to drive on the main road

$200 to several grand. It all depends on how hard the wanna f*ck you. Thats why I hate cops, a lot of them are about as worthless as paper weights and twice as hostile.

Theres alot of shady cops these days that get paid on the side for helping out convicts and criminals. Like you said this was just an asshole cop who figured he would stop 2 people instead of 1. If this guy in the 5.0 will testify, because you'll have same court date and time, and he tells the judge that you werent racing, than that should be proof enough since the other guy is willing to tell on himself and keep you out of trouble. I think you have a good chance of getting off, let us know what happens. When is your court date?
dude, must judges realize that most cops are dicks and i have heard of so many casses where the judge through the case out the room. Just get a lawer and tell the truth. and DO NOT change your story in any way, write it down if you have to while its fresh in your memory, pull up microsoft word and type it.get down to every detail. get your buddys side of the story, you can WIN this. just gotta want it bad enough.
