Zero 16X -> How-to: Double-Din HU for SN95 (9/21/2006 11:58:49 PM)

Is there anyone who can help me with my problem? I want to install a Kenwood Excelon DDX8017 DD HU http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5596.html# in my 97 GT and am having problems finding conversions or instruction on how to install a DD in my car. So if ANYONE can help it would be greatly appreciated ^_^

I have a 1999 Mustang GT. I removed my dark charcoal AC/radio bezel and replaced it with a double din one from a 2003 Mustang. The colors match exactly and the new piece fit well in my car. I was then able to install the Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD. 2001-2004 Mustangs come with the double din radio bezel. I know they fit in the 1999-2000 Mustangs, but I don't know about 1997. I am at work, so I don't have any pictures of my setup with me.

the dash on those did not change much with exception of the radio until just a couple years ago. You should be fine. check ebay, they are on there alot.

yea the trim piece is available anywhere...but what we don't know is if it just bolts in place or if it takes modification...because i know where my trim piece bolts in...that would definitely be right behind the radio opening on the DD dash...so it wouldn't fit right

thats true, there are the two screws under the deck. I don't think it would be a problem if those two were not put back in as long as the one in the back matches up.
