no, radar only picks up radar signitures, not cop cars... how to not get pulled over for having music too loud? have a mute button... or just turn it down.

thats true but however, some places now are incorporatin radar guns that sit on the dash of the cop car that point forward and constantly clock people so radar is always goin

dont ask me how it works, the cop tried explainin it to me, something about subractin the cops speed from the vehicles speed to display the difference or sumthin
i kno this cause a cop pulled me over up here in mass as he was comin towards me and i asked him how he knew precisly how fast i was goin

they might not have these all over the place but i kno they got them up here on the shore side of the northeast

pretty simple actually... (and those machines have on/off switches just like everything else)...

you're going 60, he's going 140 (we all know cops break the law they are punishing us for breaking)... laws of physics state that you both going towards each other mean that it's added... you two are moving towards each other at a pace of 200 MPH... getting the vehicle's speed off the ECU and transfering it to the equipment on the radar just allows them to be able to subtract that and get your speed = 60MPH... now of course you can fight it because physics also states that if two objects are coming at each other from different directions (angles) speeds will vary.

I was about to ask you why do you need you music up that loud, then I thought about it and 50 feet is not that far away. When I was living in Philly they had that law too, people would always get tickets for it on South St.

Take it from an ex "pig". If you ever get a ticket from the dash mount units, ask to see the calibration sheet and if they don't show you, take it to court. My agency has those units and barely anyone calibrates them as often as they should. If they are not calibrated, then the ticket is no good. Also, they can also get your speed if you are driving behind the cruiser. By the way, I never issued tickets to people unless they were driving atleast 15mph over the limit and depending on traffic. Also, I NEVER issued any tickets for stereo's being too loud!

wow thanks for the info flatfoot!! next time the cops hate on my saleen for doin 75 in a 55 i'm gonna ask for the calibration sheet. the cops in my city are so lazy I bet they never have calibrated them. they give out a lot of warnings anyway its the highway coppers I hate.

there are scanners that can detect a cop there were used in the dvd for the gumball rally 3000 a yellow bmw had one and it beeps faster as the cop gets closer it looked very expensive but they are real so look aorund if you really need one but i think they arent necessary i have a very loud system but police dont really care that much bout them and as for speeding jus remember where they trap people and only open it up when you see a mile ahead of you

In response to the original to loud of a stereo....any head unit worth a dang should have a remote. Keep the remote in hand and tap the mute type button when you see the cop. It usually takes people a moment or two to determine if it is bass, and then another few moments to pinpoint the vehicle it is coming from. (assuming multiple vehicles)

Take care,
Ceyko

UMMMM.... NO... a radar detector only works if the radar in the police car is on. you can be paced and it also doesn't save you from the aircraft pacing you overhead.

Also...not ALL "pigs" break the law or are total assholes about enforcing the law. I never wrote a ticket to a person that didn't deserve it and I never GOT a ticket that I didn't deserve. So, before you generalize and call all cops PIGS think about this....Who are you gonna call when you're precious car gets stolen or someones kicking your ass?

Yea but still theres cops out there that have nothing else to do." imo But not all cops have radars! So like choppa said jus wait for an open mile n TAKE IT! Plus you shouldnt be constantly speeding for miles anyway; unless your on some country side highway or something.

I have to agree with you. I've never gotten a ticket I didn't deserve, and I've managed to have been pulled over by a number of police officers who didn't give me a ticket when I undoubtedly did deserve one. Here's a tip, if you want to get out of getting a ticket, make sure and not use the word "PIG" when talking to the cops. And if your stereo is that loud then you need to turn it down cause you're probably that guy who can't here me yelling at you through my CB to get the hell out of my way!

Yeah getting tickets sucks ass. You can 90% of the time just goto court and have the ticket reduced to Impeading traffic which is 0 points and dosnt show up on your record.

Other then that Most cops around me use a Laser so no matter how High Tech your Radar is, it will NOT go off till the cop pulls the trigger. And once he pulls he instantly has your speed. So when your Radar dector says LASER your ****ed!

My only advice is buy a Valantine and a Laser Jammer! hahaha
