Default Score one for the good guys

I'm on my usual route tonight, driving pretty casually. I pull left through an intersection and notice somebody behind wants to keep right up with me. It's dark, and I can't tell whats behind me, but I was guessing a new GTO by the headlights, and the fact that it was keeping up pretty well. I wasn't in the mood to be passed and took it up to about 80 -ish(bye-bye pansy). Then the next light. Not a straight shot, actually, another left turn. I get the inside lane(thanks to god), and the decided advantage. Not looking beside me, I know that no matter what it is, with the inside its going to be tough for ALOT of cars to catch me. Light turns green, we both punch it. I pull a swwwweeet little fish tail that snaps right back in, and I'm off. He catches up, but is unable to get by me for quite a few seconds. Then I have to pull off, luckily for me, as I see the giant gay-ass wing of an STi go by. And hysterical laughter fills my car for miles. I think the fishtail freaked him/her out, but it still felt real good to beat the driver. And I gained some respect for us out there on the street.

Very nice! And to think you weren't even trying that hard and you creamed him. Way to go!

i seriously doubt he was just pacing him.....STi guys are kinda cocky....awd, 300hp, 6-spd.......i mean, i would be too, and id try running everything that looked fast. maybe he was, but, i say 1) he/she just couldnt drive or 2) they did get scared when he fishtailed. either way, good kill

i mirror si here. what are you driving? im not one to defend other drivers just becase we have the same car mind you. but it would take a hell of a driver or some luck to beat an awd car with more hp and less weight, not to mention the sti gearing is sick. i know i have the gearbox.

Oh yeah, I definately SHOULD have gotten spanked. But it was his fault for trying to start on the outside. If I had known it was AWD and 300hp next to me, I probably would have panicked, but I just smashed it. If he was pacing me, he was doing it mostly from my rearview, and it sure as hell seemed like he wanted to get past me. It just goes to show that anything can happen, and fast cars don't make fast drivers. Crap wait a minute, maybe it was a Civic with a big wing!

Sorry, yeah I just have a stock 04 GT. It would have been murder for me at a regular light, or on the track. Got real lucky, perfect conditions. It's my daily route to work as well. I usually take the corner sideways.
