Hey I'm knew here but I'm just sick of the ricers and need to share my anger

My friend and I are driving home late last night on a slow 30mph road and all of a sudden headlights are coming up fast in my rearview mirror. In fact he gets close enough to me to call it "riding my ass" and anyway I notice it's an older eclipse. Now I expect this from idiots when I'm driving my Si, but not a Mustang. I come to a 4 way stop to turn right and he's still 2 feet off me and as I turn he follows right through behind me. So I ignored the moron and started talking to my friend when I notice the headlights swing out and he's passing me? in a 35 mph zone... ?So he's passing me at his flat out and I see his buddy looking over at me with the look of "wow we're beating a GT" so I drop into second and let the V8 roar and pull to his window and look at them as if to say "what the hell are you doing?" Anyway he keeps accelerating so I just back off as it's getting a little fast for the particular road. And he just pulls in front of me so I can see his euro lights (+50hp) and keeps going to complete his "Ricer flyby" We ended up following him for the next few miles but at every light he turned, I'm guessing not wanting to side up? then he turned into a sub to go hide...I sooooo wanted to put him in his place too  and I never race.  It angers me more because I know he's saying "I beat a GT!" because I backed off.

Why do they bother? I haven't ever had any encounters in my Civic, but why do they want something when it's a Mustang when they WILL get smoked

Well if you hadn't dropped into 2nd and then backed off, he could only claim that he passed a Mustang. But he has a legit kill because you gave it a go, then chickened out.
I'm not saying I condone street racing, but you did take the bait and then he ran away.

You definitely did the right thing. Don't let it get to you- racing on a sub-45 mph road is retarded. We know you weren't a chicken. Good thinkin.

I like to cruise down highways past 11PM, because that's usually when there's the least amount of cars on the road, and the ricers are still out

Just watch out for the po-po...

I am suprised Jeep didnt say anything about this but good job on the restraint.  There is a time and a place to do certain things and a 35 MPH road is never a place to race an idiot.

nothin wrong with a street race in my mind, as long as you are at the right place at the right time and you know when to shut down.

This might be a hard fact to comprehend... DONT STREET RACE, take it to the tracks... if anyone were to get hurt it would be your fault, you would have to live with it for the rest of your life
