Sounds good. Hopefully this is all true. But if they are going with a niche variant 4.6 DOHC engine instead of an NA 5.4..........it better be more than just a mere 25 or even 40 hp gain over the current 3V 4.6. Maybe everyone was satisfied with minor hp upgrades in previous mustang generations....but everyone now expects upgrades in "at least" 50hp increments. I still want to see a 400hp NA motor in a production mustang......don't care if its a Bullitt, Mach 1, Boss, or GT350. I was hoping there was more to the rumor about a new 5 liter motor, but 4.6 DOHC will do if they can work some good numbers out of it. Would be even nicer if it were dropped into this:

Thing is that the new Camaro is supposed to weigh in somewhere from 3700 to 3800 lbs.......and it will have IRS. That puts it almost in the same class as the outgoing GTO model. There are simple bolt-on S197 GT's that are giving those Goats heartburn at the track.........so a 350-400hp s.e. mustang weighing close to the GT will be more than ample competition for the new Camaro.

That's, of course, if everything that I've heard so far is even true..........which it may not be.

Probably because the Mustang is a more appealing car.
