its been pretty busy around here lately, with all the different people coming in and out, so i thought we'd have a little fun.
just a little unofficial chop contest. for those of you who have been here before with this... no due dates, no voting, nothing like that.
all we need is some car suggestions (prefferably at a high resolution and a good non-static angle), and if we generate enough interest we can pick one to do, and just post up what youve done to it. kind of along the lines of 67sally's car chop thread.
all are welcome, just have fun with it, its not meant to just be a joke, and at the same time its not meant to be serious, so you can do your best or your worst, and just post it up for all to see.
now lets get some suggestions a rollin... and if ya gotta suggestion, post a pic, it doesnt do us any good to suggest a car and not put up a good pic to work with (or none at all for that matter[8D])

not bad, but its already got like everything done to it... i was thinking something more like a common stock car.
maybe for some of the guys that arent to sure about the idea, maybe we'll just do a mustang to keep the interest up. maybe one that has a lot of versatility in body modification options. i dont do too many new edges or maybe a sn95, when it comes to that kind of stuff, maybe that would be kinda fun.
some of the ones weve done in the past have been like, sti's, bmw v12, saab 900, audi a4, caddilac, s-10...

This is cool, you guys are good with the photo shop. I don't have it on my pc either, looked at staples the other day and they had it, cheapest was $85, didn't know it was that expensive. I might try the Paint though, but I have never done it before.

thats too cheap. its probably not photoshop. a decent copy of photoshop runs atleast a couple hundred.

Ok I tried it with paint, I don't think its quite up to yalls standards. Didn't know how to put rims and stuff on with paint, or if you could. But here it is.
Not sure why the thumbnail looks the same as other photo but if you click on it you can see my upgrades. Haha.
I thought the box said Adobe photoshop, but I could be wrong, they did have some that were on up into the hundreds though.
I just checked the website, it was Adobe Photoshop Elements, don't think it was a "photoshop" program. They had two versions, both were well over $600, I didn't know they were that expensive. Don't think I will be getting that any time soon.

had a few spare minutes tonight, here is my work in progress. Might finish it sooner or later, lol. converted to 2 door, body kit, tinted windows, reshaped headlights.
how do you change the color of the car without paining the whole thing with F***ING brush?
you want to select the body, you can do it 1 of 2 ways, either select the whole car body and deselect the stuff like windows (and emblems if you wanna get really in depth), then copy it to a new layer OR you can select the whole car body, copy it to a new layer then select the windows and such and delete them from the new layer.
after thats all said and done, you should have a new layer with nothing but the body parts you want to change the color of.
next desaturate the layer (Ctrl+Shift+U OR Image > Adjustments > Desaturate)
next go to either Image > Adjustments > Hue/Saturation
OR
go to Image > Adjustments > Color Balance
in hue/saturation: click the "Colorize" button and then use the sliders to choose the color you want.
in color balance: use the sliders to chose the color you want, and at the bottom, choose between shadows/highlights/midtones to tweak the colors to your desire
next, if you still arent happy with the color you have, go to: Image > Adjustments > Curves, and you can adjust the brightness/contrast by adjusting the diagonal line at different points under the RGB setting.
if you change the RGB setting to either Red, Blue, or Green, you can add and/or subtract those specific colors to fweak hues to your final choice.
after all that, you have sucessfully changed the color of your car. the steps are in depth and seem rough, but overall it is a very easy thing to do.
now if you would like to advance upon what you have just completed...
you can also make pearlescent/two tone paint jobs that come out to be like what you would see in a mystichrome paint scheme.
first thing you want to do is select the body of the car that you want to color (same idea as above)
now before you go selecting the car, if you already have the body selected and copied to a new layer, you can go to the layer menu in the bottom corner of the screen, and hold Ctrl and click that layer and photoshop will create an outline of that entire layer. all you have to do then is just make a new blank layer with the outline still selected.
now that you have a new layer with the body outlined, you want to go choose a color you want using the color chooser (paintbrush color).
after you do that, use a soft edge brush, and fill in that area that is the body selection... for best results, making more highs and lows in the pearlescent paint, make some areas darker than others
after you fill that area in with the paint brush tool, you can go ahead and deselect the area, and set the layer to either Hard Light or Soft Light depending on how strong you want this paint to be. I like to use the Hard Light and use the color of the body in the layer below to be the primary color and make the painted color the accented color.
now the painted color will become a blend in the paint in the layer below. all you have to do now is adjust the opacity/fill to a desired. and if you want to maximize the contrast of this layer, you can use the dodge/burn tool to brighten and darken certain areas to hide or make the accents stand out.
that looks really good for MS Paint... i could never figure out how to select stuff without it copying/pasting as a square.

LOL. Thanks AR. Theres actually a manual cut-out tool in MS Paint. Thats what I used but it still doesn't compare to PS at all.
I'd like to see some one else use Paint and see what they come up with so their work to mine.

cuz McNabb decided to screw around at the end. doesnt mean he's a bad QB, he had a magnificant game the first half, but just made a stupid choice at the end... but that field goal that hit the goal post came back and bit them in the ass.
eventhough they lost, Eli did play like a disgrace today, in that 4th quarter the eagles defense just played more sloppy and looser than a Las Vegas hooker's vagina.
That thing is bad, I love the widebody kit for the 7" wide tires, and the custom bracing for that wing, man with a wing like that it must be fast. One question, I wonder if he has any back pressure issues with that exhaust.

lol thats alright...i just couldnt put the right stang and the amount of cash together..so i had to settle with a 2.2L that has a tiny turbocharger on it..lol and put my 302 in my 65 stang :D:D

thats like trying Montana is better than McNabb right now. although Montana was a better qb over the course of his career, you cant because they both played great in totally different time periods.
on that note, favre is one of the worst QB's in the league, but dont mistake me for saying he didnt have a great career. favre WAS a great qb. he's a washup now.
brad johnson hit his prime in Tampa Bay. he's had a good season last year, but its still not up to par.

i wouldnt say hassleback...
last year, they may have gone to the super bowl, but his QB rating was a mere 88.1... where as when McNabb went to the super bowl, he was a 104.7, and even last year, they only went 6-8 and he was (which im not gonna judge for/against him on it) injured, and he still had a QB rating of 85 with a completion percentage of 59.
now for this year, Hasselback is rated at only an 88.5 where as Mcnabb is rated at a 105.3
now superbowl ring aside, you cant say that hassleback is a better qb than McNabb... and i say that for one reason because you cant credit a QB for a super bowl win or loss, its a team effort.

dude, trust me, when i claim something like this, just because he's the "hometown favorite" where i live and i root for his team, it doesnt mean im playing favorites and just saying it because he's on my favorite football team.
honestly, i listen to sports radio everyday, i watch sportscenter, sports rise/day/night (comcast sports net), i look up stats all the time. i dont just BS crap like that. i do my research before i make a claim that someone is "the best" or something like that, and i do admit when they arent the best.

side note: i dont understand why everyone bags on McNabb saying he's terrible and that he's a choke and that he's never won a bowl, when at the same time Peyton is doing the same thing in Indy. he's a great QB and hasnt won or even made it to the super bowl in his 9 year career in the NFL, and even got the the AFC conf. championship game and lost.
i do know and admit that Peyton is a better QB than McNabb, but you have to credit the fact that McNabb has made it to the NFC championship game 4 times in a row, eventhough they lost the first 3, while Peyton has only made it to 1 AFC championship game and lost.

photoshop, thats the best one, and the hardest one. i use ACD Photo Canvas for Neon and Tint. and then i use MS paint when i wanna be a dumass.
