Hey guys, I might throw in my pioneer deck today in my '94. It has the mach 460 with the tape on top, cd on bottom. I have the wiring harness for it, but I was wondering if I need one of those trim kits that fit around the cd player, or can i just put the actual cd player in and it will fit fine? Also with the mach 460 do I ever have to worry about blowing out my stock speakers? I think the pioneer is like 50x4 might be higher.

Theres no problem with putting in the new HU the mach speakers will handle it just fine. You dont HAVE to have a trim kit to go around the head unit but it would make it look a little better.

OK, so they actually do make trim kits? Because everywhere I looked I can't find any, which made me beleive that you don't need one.

They do sell the trim kits at best buy. And the new in dash will not screw up your speakers that you have in it. Good luck... should go in easy for ya.

I disagree. If you are trying to use the stock amps, if you're just hardwiring the HU to the 460 speakers you'll be ok. Do a search, if you want to use the stock 460 amps you can decrease the input signal so you don't fry the amps.
