Can't exactly quote my source just yet but GM is developing a Supercharged engine which you all know about by now. It will be pushing out close to 700hp. Also with the release of the Camaro, Corvette owners can expect a new 6.2L engine which will be good for some 435-450HP. The LS2 will be discontinued in the Corvette. They are also designing a huge 8.3L LSX based motor that will deliver close to 900 HP. It is not known whether this engine will be N/A or not. Also the 2008 Dodge Viper should be around 8.4L with close to 650HP.
I guess you can never have enough HP.

soon to come....
Intake, CAI, throttle body
GM is gonna be draggin the front end's of their cars with all that motor, don't they learn their lesson with the LS2 GTSLOW's
ut oh, i may have started it again
Its funny that you mention that because there have been a few C5 owners that have already dropped the LS7 in their Vettes. You would think that going from 5.7L to 7.0L would comprimise space and weight. Think again. I'm sure GMs 8.3L engine will not be as large as the Vipers 8.3.
Discontinuing the LS2 already? I guess they will be useing the same six speed auto tranny for the new 435-450hp powerplant. I was doing a little research on mods for my car and the max power the tranny can handle is 460hp. Not sure if that 460hp is at the crank or the wheels. With the LS2 a tune to rid that TM has added .2 ET's and 4mph added trap speeds and a set of long tubes should put me up to 450hp. I know progress is a constant thing but GM has always maintained a consistant product (rated power and style) for the duration of each Generation Vette but it seems now they are changing their ways...........Welcome to round two of the Horespower/Musclecar War......lol
